So I changed my layout today. I think I totally messed it up. Did you ever have those moments in your life when you like something and get it and then totally dislike it . I am having one of those moments. But now that I have went through the effort of changing the background I think I will keep it for some time till I find the motivation and time to change it back ,maybe today or after 10 days de

It has been snowing all the time since a few days and the temperature is just above zero degrees and I am loving it. It is beautiful outside -snow capped Alps look dazzling when the sun is shining.I have been working on few of my paintings. Working on more than one painting at a time means either all are done or none :) I think I should just finish them one at a time. And I bought a great pair of k
One thing about craigslist and freecycle which can be quite frustrating is that about half the people are (consistently) flaky! Come on! If someone goes through the trouble of listing something for free and putting it in a bag for you to pick up and you say you want it, the least you can do, [...]
It has been a tradition that once you get a gold medal. The Athlete get his face on the cereal box of Wheaties. But Micheal Phelp is going against the current. He has chosen to be on the box of Corn Flakes. Maybe it is time to move on, Since he was on the box of Wheaties after the 2004 Olympics
I saw Haw Flakes in a Chinese market on Monday and I was instantly brought back to childhood. These were the candies I ate and shared with friends, while playing jump rope and tag in the school yard. I'd often have a little package or two stuck in my pockets, sometimes melting into a gooey mess during hot summer days. How could I have forgotten about Haw Flakes? Looking at it now, it's funny, I ha
If you have dandruff, do not worry about being alone with your problem. With one out of every two people in the entire world having, or having had, that same problem as yours, you are definitely not alone with it. Dandruff is a common hair problem. Embarrassing indeed, but a very, very common problem nonetheless.

Welcome to the eighth installment of the Carnival of Snowflaking!
Today we’ll be taking a look at infamous quotes from some famous “flakes.”

I am a cold cereal junkie. Before I started eating oatmeal every single fricken day for breakfast I would have cold cereal most mornings. Nowadays it's not unusual for me to have a bowl of cereal for lunch or for a night time snack. When I was in the hospital for a week with a collapsed lung (I am the only person in history of the world to get a collapsed lung while sitting on couch and watching TV
Frosted Flakes Gold ™ cereal is NEW from Kellogg's. It is different from the original frosted flakes because it is made with whole grain corn and baked with a touch of honey. If you head over to visit the website you can try out three recipes using this cereal as well as view the nutritional, ingredient, and allergen information. This cereal does contain "high fructose corn syrup"

I received a box of Frosted Flakes Gold from Mom Central/Kellogg’s. The BG was so excited when he came home and saw them - apparently he was allowed sugar cereal as a child and these brought back good memories.
As always, before feeding them to Primo I read the the ingredient listing and [...]
Flakes has been released by BeStDivX, quite a while after the DVDR was released by Jackal (Flakes.2007.LiMiTED.NTSC.DVDR-JACKAL). As this is a limited film you most probably haven’t heard of it, but don’t let that throw you off because this could be one of the gems. The quality is fine, and nothing special needs to be [...]

Remember when I wrote about why you shouldn’t eat popular cereals? Well, I found another reason and it’s a doozy. It’s more than that, even. It should be the clincher for you to give up these industrial cereals.
There was an experiment with three groups of rats: one group ate corn flakes and water; another group [...]

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Hollywood Flakes, Happy Birthday to you!Okay, I actually forgot my birthday and this is two days late. On November 9, 2005, this blog was born. It was a slimy, whiny little thing with a misshapen head but Spike (yes, that's my husband's name now) and I saw potential. The blog had to go through many awkward rites of passage. The post begging for comments, the post where I discovered stat counters. The post where I discovered it was fun to write about the crazy stuff that goes on in my head. Slowly but surely, the blog took on its warped form. Now two years later I have a hard time remembering that I created the blog and not the other way around. To commemorate the occasion, I'm posting an interview I did today for a website. Enjoy.Your Name: HollywoodPlease give us a description of your blog: A humor blog about the unexpected laughs in parenting, wonky product reviews, unlikely bits of tenderness, and cautionary tal

We test drove our costumes today at Adam's work Halloween party. Everyone was supposed to have their kids come in dressed up to go trick or treating at all the offices at his firm. They didn't expect me to come dressed up too. I got a lot of wide-eyed stares with my huge hat and weird costume.Penny is Charlie Chaplin this year. We taught her to say "hau hau hau" like a snooty frenchie and she tips her hat. I've spent the past few weeks showing her Chaplin videos so she really has a feel for what she's doing. The funny walk, the silly smile, she's got it. I made her costume from head to toe except for the felt bowling hat. She also has a cane that goes with the costume except I hid it from her last week because she kept swinging it up in the air and now I can't remember where I hid it.Charlotte and I are King Kong and the Chrysler Building. Before you purists get all up in arms, I know Kong climbed the Empire State building, not the Chrysler, but the Chrysler was so much
They look harmless...One of the best things I liked about being in the fraternity I was in was that we were very good at messing with our recruits in time-honored and classic tests of their trust in us. One of these methods is affectionately known as the ‘Corn Flakes’ game.
The funny thing was, the pledges bought into it. Not because they were drunk, but rather that we were aware of the notion that sleep deprivation is very helpful to messing with people. We were fun like that. We would call them up at all hours, just to wake them up for no reason. We would round them up at three am to do something stupid like run around the fraternity house naked six times then send them back to their dorm rooms.
The game began with the customary lining up of the pledges along the ‘wall’ after a heavy night of drinking by us. Not them, just us. By limiting the pledges to alcohol we not only insured minimal problems but had designated drivers for the weekends. When we did get in trouble it

I was getting late in the morning, and there was absolutely no time to make any lavish breakfast, and with minimal ingredients at home, I resorted to make the batata poha, a tried and tested, yet never-failing snack. "Poha" is nothing else but rice flakes, and for those who are used to having rice flakes in the form of cereals for breakfast, try this indianized version which is simple, filling and highly nutritious!!Ingredients3 cups poha (rice flakes), 1 small potato-boiled and chopped, half an onion bulb-chopped finely, 4-5 curry leaves, 2 green chillies finely chopped, jeera seeds, 3 tbsp oil, spices - salt, turmeric powder, sugar and lemon juice- to taste, chopped cilantro and dried dessicated coconut to garnishMethodPlace the rice flakes in a colander and wash them with water. Soak them a little and let the water drip out by itself from the colander. meanwhile, add the oil to a pan and add the curry leaves, jeera and green chillies. When it starts to splutter, add the chopped oni
When you see those thick, scaly, white flakes’ dropping on your dress you know you have that itchy, annoying skin disorder of the scalp called dandruff. It is all the more embarrassing when people point out this to you. The feigned sympathetic looks on their faces and a concern which almost seems to mock you is even more exasperating. You mumble something and try and manage the situation by
I was digging into my store to look for tidbits and found a bar of chocolate and a box of Corn Flakes. Eh, why nobody interested in them huh? Surprise, surprise. Nobody eat, I eat lor and I changed them into these ...Ingredients:1 bar of chocolate, I'm using 70g Milk Chocolate (see below)10g butter1 small box Corn FlakesHow to do it:Boil a pot of water.Break the chocolate and add butter into another smaller pot.Melt the butter and chocolate in the pot by putting it on the pot of boiling water.Stir well till they become smooth.Remove from the pot of water.Pour the corn flakes in and coat well with chocolate.Place corn flakes on wax paper or paper cup.Chill them. Best eaten when it's cold!Note: If you find your melted chocolate too thick, add more butter. The amount of melted chocolate here is enough for 1 1/2 small boxes of corn flakes. You can coat bananas, strawberries, marshmallows, etc too! Just make sure your fruits are not wet otherwise the chocolate won't stick to them.
An itchy scalp, a feeling of tightness, visible white flakes-if you've ever had dandruff, you've got plenty of company. It is a persistent skin disorder of the scalp caused by a tiny yeast fungus called pityrosporum ovale, or P. ovale. This fungus lives on our bodies and scalp all the time, usually without incident. Yet [...]
