I knit this hat/booties set for a baby shower. The Father of the baby is a Fireman, hence the theme. I used the booties pattern from the book "Knitting Pretty" by Kris Percival and omitted the eyelets. For the hat I used the pattern here. I also left out the eyelets and used cotton yarn instead for the hat pattern. It would be fun to make other themed sets like a nurse, or police officer.

An Ohio firefighter is in hot water after a bizarre romp through a public park. Stephen Cole was arrested by Mason police Tuesday night after police were called to the park by other visitors disturbed by the fireman's behavior.
This picture shows the kind of work you could be doing if you had chosen to be a fireman. All joined in a team effort to rescue a young girl stuck in steel fence, and it took several hours to extract her from her predicament.
Fire Chief Stiffie said, “This was a pretty tough rescue, it took us quite a while to come up with a plan to safely extract her from the fence.”
Although the girl’s entrapment was never life threatening it did take careful planning and gentle handling to safely remove her. She was taken to an area hospital where she was examined by several doctors and finally released the following day.
