Spring Full of New Beginnings & The Gold Finch is Enjoying It
I have not realized that it will take me that long to get back to blogging. Things finally started to normalize, and I can actually sit and rest before bedtime. Tell you the truth, for me it was really nice break from the computer, however, at some point I started to miss my blogging. But sitting front of the computer for eight hours at work, and then at home it was not doing me any justice, I think I started to become a computer geek, a virtual friend (I don't mind that part) - yes the winter was too long, and I was being exhausted of posting ideas too.The spring finally arrived, it is really starting to be beautiful around here. We now have rain, clouds, sun, wind - everything what heart desires after long cold and snowy winter, and yes birds arrived too, as you can see above one of my n

The Facts in The Case of The Departure of Miss Finch
By Lisa Fary I kind of identify with Miss Finch and totally get why she would want to run off with saber tooth tigers into some misty netherworld while her frenemies go get sushi. The Facts in the Case of the Departure of Miss Finch, published by Dark Horse, is a graphic novel adaptation of a Neil Gaiman short story, which was originally published in Smoke and Mirrors: Short Fictions and Illusions.

Finch & Blossoms Miniature Painting - Watercolor
This is a new miniature I painted that went to England for a miniature art exhibit. It is a finch with apple blossoms and is a little smaller than 4×6. My Dad has some awesome flowering fruit trees that I love …which inspired this painting… (I have ’spring fever’ -I’m really wishing [...]

The 90 Day Finch Fitness Challenge
Dang, I have to admit it was tough getting out of bed yesterday and this morning. My mattress had a pretty good hold on me. I finally decided yesterday that I was going to get my butt back into shape like I was a couple of years ago when I competed in a couple of bodybuilding competitions. For the next 90 days, I have decided that I am going to 'Just Do It.' I am going lose weight and inches off my waist. I have attempted a couple of times over the last year to lose weight and drop a couple of inches off my waist but I always seem to self-sabotage myself. You know, I'll start exercising and eating healthy then before I know it I am back to my old ways. It's almost as if something in the background (subconcious) is totally pulling me down. Sound familiar? Well, if you want to discover how to destroy this emotional blocker forever and find out how to permanantly drop weight and inches and maintain your health RSS%20button%2022Subscribe via Email and stay updated. Finch wins New Zealand Open
Richard Finch, the overnight leader at 14-under had a solid even par final round, while his chasers failed to fire a shot.As he did all week, Finch relyied on a simplistic mix of hitting the right area off the tee, finding the green and rolling the odd putt in.Even a crowd disturbance during his tee shot on the first couldn't perturb him, recovering to make birdie when his chip shot hit a sprinkler head and bounced to within five feet of the hole.Aussie Steven Bowditch was expected to mount a serious challenge from 11-under overnight, but three early bogies meant he was out of contention leaving Finch to take the New Zealand Open.

      House Finch Eye Disease
After posting the identification practice with a house finch that had an eye disease, the bird returned. This time, I had two house finches on the platform. I got the camera to be able to compare the two and turned out with something more interesting. It seems I know have two house finches infected with House Finch Conjunctivitis: This disease first appeared in wild bird populations in the winter of 1993-94 among house finches on the East Coast. It has since spread rapidly. Although the disease does affect some other species, this is rare. Why it is so prevalent among house finches is unknown, but some speculate it is due to the lack of genetic diversity among house finches in the Eastern Region. It is characterized by red, swollen or puffy eyes which produce mucous. It can also affect the upper respiratory system. Some birds do survive to become healthy again, but since it effects their vision, it seriously compromises their survival. As the disease progresses, they can becom

Rotolare verso

      Interview with Curt Finch
Blog Business Success has a time tracking book author interview available on Blog Talk Radio. In this interview the host has the pleasure to talk with the author, Curt Finch, about the value of time management and how tracking time improves our knowledge of business costs and return on investment. It might sound technical, but it is quite interesting and I think it is so because it is practical knowledge that can be applied in real life.

      Lady Gouldian Finch
Have you ever heard of the Lady Gouldian Finch? They are a species of Finch that is on the endangered species list in Australia. I love to hear of organizations and businesses that are supporting and reestablishing populations of endangered animals. One of these businesses is Fabulous Finch. I wanted to include a picture, this is from the Fabulous Finch website, to show you how beautiful they are. They are a species of finch that is difficult to breed and care for. The Fabulous Finch breeds them and sells them. I only support responsible breeders, of dogs or birds, and this business seems to me to be responsible. They have easy to read and understand care instructions on their website, and they are the first US Sponsor for the “Save the Gouldian Fund”, which is based in Australia and dedicated to saving these amazing birds. On their website you will find amazing photos of the birds, and great care information. The Fabulous Finch is very straighforward in their approach and wil

..lasciala andare e guai a remare! A testa! Ora invece siamo in pieno sbandamento con la mesta situazione del professore, che ovviamente, sta ricadendo

      A Finch-for-all!
So, there I was this morning, putting insta-hot water in my mug, holding down the tea bag string with my thumb, glancing around.  I look up.  There they are! 5 American goldfinches (I think) eating from our feeder.  One had hopped down yesterday and I was stunned.  I had never seen one this time of year.  I think I saw one in the summer a year or two ago (when they are bright yellow and hard to miss).  They are not common guests at our feeder.  But today, 5!  They said to me “Okay, lady, you couldn’t figure me out yesterday, so I brought four of my friends.  We’ll hang out awhile, and if you can’t figure us out by then, you are hopeless!”  Now, watch me be wrong….    As an added pop quiz, after the fab five flew, a reddish bird arrived and ate.  My pictures were too fuzzy, but I think it was a purple finch.  So, happy finch day!  [This post can also be found at Bainbridge Breezes.]
