If you’ve ever used the Record Management System mechanism in MIDP, you already know how useful the RecordStore class can be for storing persistent data. In a previous tutorial, Using RMS to Store Persistent Data, we used the RecordStore.getRecord(int) method to retrieve a record by its ID. However, sometimes you may have more complex retrieval criteria than simply the record ID. That’s where the enumerateRecords() method comes in handy. In this article we will discuss how to filter and order a subset of records in a RecordStore object using enumerateRecords()
The complete signature of the enumerateRecords() method looks like this:
public RecordEnumeration enumerateRecords(
RecordFilter, RecordComparator, boolean)
throws RecordStoreNotOpenException
This method returns an object that enumerates a set of records from the RecordStore. The RecordFilter argument allows the application to specify criteria that will used to return a subset of records. Similarly, the RecordC

Class, whaddya know? Your teacher is high on life this week, and I'm back with another post with hot blogging tips, so Listen Up! My inspiration angels knocked me on the head as I read my morning email in my BLACK SILK TEDDY. The email came from an established blogger Andy Wibbels to whom I subscribe. Maybe some of you've heard of him? The title of the email read, "Virgin Territory", and since I'd just posted about loosing my blog contest virginity yesterday, I thought what an amazing coinky-dink-- maybe I need to read this post.After sipping more of my latte, I clicked on the invitation and link to Andy's first podcast after reading his enticing introduction: "You know I'm a bit nuts. And I have been blessed the past several years to find other folks just as nutty as I am. One of these prime nutter-butters is my good chum audio marketing djinn Rob Schultz."Since you KNOW all too well that your blondalicious teacher loves nutter-butter types, how could I resist? I wanted to see so

The internet is wonderful technology. It has indeed broken down many borders and anyone with access to the internet could practically get their hands on any types of information and knowledge anywhere in the world today. Unfortunately, not everything found on the internet is good and beneficial. Many are controversial and pose serious threats to any decent societies. Concerned parents have always been sceptical of the internet. While they did not dismiss the fact that the internet can provide information and knowledge at the tip of their fingers, they do worry about how the internet could affect their kids who are too young and naïve to differentiate what is right or wrong. Hence, most Malaysian parents took the easiest way out and opt for not having internet access at home. I personally view this as a bad decision made by Malaysian parents. By dismissing the internet from being used at home, Malaysian parents are actually closing
I have been holding off mentioning that Marlyn has retired his Filtering Wall Street blog simply because I had hoped he would change his mind. Well, after a week or so without posts, I guess I have to admit that my favorite blog is no more. Marlyn has rejoined the ranks of working stiffs like me and has stopped blogging due to time constraints. I hope he finds the time to blog again at some point in the future as he has a tremendous amount of knowledge to share and lots of readers like myself who appreciate his wisdom a great deal. There is only so much gushing that is appropriate when paying tribute to a no-nonsense guy like Marlyn ("No Booyah, No BS") Trades, but I would like to briefly and publicly express my gratitude to him. It has been my experience that you don't get very many mentors in life. People who express a genuine interest in what you're doing and who give you regular feedback- encouragement and critique- are rare and should be acknowledged. In short, I've learned a t
New video-‘fingerprinting’ tools stoke Internet censorship fears.
