      Bamboo Fencing(Taiwan Bamboo Furnitures)
Bamboo Fencing(Taiwan Bamboo Furnitures)Bamboo fencing(Taiwan Bamboo Furnitures) is a decorative and environmentally friendly alternative to chain link or wood. Bamboo has several advantages as a fencing material. First it is a grass and not a wood, so it takes less time to grow and replenish the supply. In fact it only takes 5 to 7 years to grow a mature bamboo(Taiwan Bamboo Furnitures) plant for

Wood Fencing Does Wonders to Home and Garden
Fences made of wood look good at home and garden. They enhance the outer beauty of the building and the garden in the front. They are also the most suitable for horse farms or corrals where livestock are likely to challenge the fence. Wood fencing is also economical compared to other materials used for fence. [...]

Fencing Options – Wood or Vinyl?
Compulsive home owners are often excited by the possible transformation of their home and garden in their imagination, yet fret over the abundance of so many options even for the simple thing like fencing. From wood to vinyl made fences, choosing a style is clearly easier said than done. When you are trying to decide on the type of fencing you’d like to purchase, you first assess your budget. Do you have enough money to splurge and go for authenticity? If you do, then wood fencing is a great choice. Most consumers tend to buy this type of fencing because it looks gorgeous. Wood has always been a favorite pick for people who love its elegance. Although wood is great to look at, it has to be maintained. Sanding and painting are often common chores that always require extra work. Hence, if y

      Garden Fencing
I made my very first garden when I was six in a small corner at the end of my grandmother's garden. It was a small patch, not more than six rows by 10 plants long, but it was MINE, with the flowers I picked and the dirt that I dug. And I knew that it was mine when Nana helped me put up the sections of wire fencing that set it off from HER garden.Garden fencing can serve many purposes, but one of the best is to accent and define areas of your garden. Whether you choose a six or twelve inch high border edging, or stand a section of post and rail garden fencing in the center of a sweep of lawn, garden fencing can add a beautiful accent to your landscaping. Take a look at some novel, unusual ways to use garden fencing to make your garden a showplace that will be the envy of the neighborhood.Wo

      Wood Fencing
Most people love the idea of a nice private place in their yard. A lot of times, if you have a swimming pool, you want to be able to use your pool, lounge around in your swimsuit, and get a nice tan - and do it without the world watching! More: continued here

Fencing the Good, Bad and Ugly
This haunting print was done by Julia Margaret Cameron in 1867 and is British. It is entitled "Julia Jackson" and was prepared from an albumen silver print from a wet collodion negative. It is located at the Institute of Art in Chicago. Another morose looking day. The dinginess of Spring is always apparent on days such as this. Everything is wet, brown, and unpleasant looking. The birds seem to step carefully among the rubble of winter, picking this or that, perhaps for a nest lining. The dogs seem oblivious to all this, focused entirely on what must be a cornucopia of aromas stored in snow for all these months. The bedroom is done! I finished this morning with a good carpet cleaning with the vacuum attachments pulling ancient dust bunnies from corners and along baseboards. The bedding was

      Fencing at "The Arnold"
I am going to be bringing my son to the Arnold (as in Schwarzenegger) athletic games in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday to compete in fencing. The games are sponsored by Governor Schwarzenegger, and have been for years. The convention center in Columbus becomes filled with just about every indoor sport competition imaginable, such as fencing, gymnastics, weightlifting, martial arts etc. Each year Mr. Schwarzenegger himself shows up and stops into the finals of every sport. It was actually quite funny last year because, as a governor, he has bodyguards for protection. So, naturally, all competitors in fencing were told that the governor's visit to the fencing match would be pre-announced by about 10 minutes and that all matches would stop and that all foils, epees etc had to be placed on the

What Type of Fencing Would Work Best for My Pet?
People who have never owned an animal before are often surprised by how smart and quick they can be.  Most animals are problem solvers and it doesn’t take them too long to figure out how to get what they want.  Dogs should not be trusted to roam free through your neighborhood, they will make messes [...]

      60s 70s Kitchens - Kitchen Fencing Ideas
Hi kitchen fans, the latest installment is here of 60s-70s kitchens, and the last entry of this type for a little while. I think I've made the point, to show examples of kitchens that we can't believe we really either lived in or were designed, in our recent history! I'll put one up every now and then for another laugh and "yikes!" I'll be replacing this feature with a regularly scheduled Saturday "New/Cool Product." It's important to be aware of what is in the marketplace, and so much is in the marketplace in the world of kitchens. And, having attended 3 design shows in May, I have lots of great material to go through, and I'm really picky too. So, back to the kitchen of today. It sort of looks like iron fencing, doesn't it? And, the aquamarine? Hmmm, not sure I have an explanation for that! The curtains REALLY give away the time period here, don't you think? But, what really bugs me is the typical cabinetry to the left of the image. I think something ther

      Fencing II
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, since I am away for the weekend at a fencing tournament with one of my sons, I thought that I would post some of the images I have been taking at the tournament in order to give people a bit of a 'flavor' of what it is like to be at an event of this sort.First, a quick disclaimer. I am away with an uncalibrated laptop, so these images are by no means adjusted...they are meant to convey an experience as opposed to an artistic statement. So, here we go:The ArmorerCopyright Howard GrillEvery tournament has an armorer present. His or her job is twofold. First, they test and authorize each piece of equipment used in the tournament to ensure that they pass very rigorous safety standards. Second, they are on site to assist in the repair of equipment that breaks or malfunctions during the bouts. Fencing
One of my son’s is a competitive fencer. Yup, that’s right….Zorro, The Three Musketeers, you got it. I knew absolutely nothing about the sport before he decided he wanted to take it up four or five years ago. At this point, he really has become quite good at it; good enough to compete on a national level. Now, generally speaking, I really am not much of a sports person (though, living in Pittsburgh, I do love those Steeler games), but, I have to say, I find fencing fascinating, graceful, and exciting. There is a good reason that the sport has been nicknamed ‘physical chess’. Because it is such an eclectic sport, at least in the USA (I understand it is much more popular and mainstream in Europe), there is a rather interesting subculture surrounding it. When I go to some of the competitions, I bring my camera. However, I am generally not looking for action shots (and besides, the lighting for such shots tends to be pretty poor). I tend to go for the abstracts and th
