Earlier today Tiger Woods became the first winner of the FedEx Cup with a personal best 23 under par tournament at the Tour Championship. He was at his absolute best during the event beating Zach Johnson Mark Calcavecchia by a massive 8 strokes. The Tour ChampionshipToday Tiger moved one step closer to winning the inaugural FedEx Cup as he had one of the best front nines we have ever seen in a major tournament. Starting at the fourth hole he reeled off 5 birdies in a row and then shot an eagle at the 9th going out with a 28! The gloss came off slightly with 2 bogeys on the back nine, but still holds a 3 shot lead over Woody Austin. Woods now moves into prime position for the FedEx Cup and his closest challengers to the title seem to be too far away to stop him now. In the end Tiger would be a worthy winner after a fantastic regular season. Well the first round of the FedEx cup was played today and while Tiger wasn't playing there were still many formidable golfers plying their trades. The biggest mover, points standing wise, was Rich Beem who is ranked 134 in the FedEX Cup standings and could make the next round of the cup with three more solid rounds. NFL safety Ryan Clark is returning to the FedEx Field tonight as he is reunited with his old NFL team.
Clark used to play for Washington and he left on good terms after Washington wanted to get high-priced free agent Adam Archuleta at the time.
But Clark will be back at the FedEx Field tonight with the Pittsburgh Steelers and this is his first time back at the FedEx Field since he left in 2006.
It doesn’t look like there will be any drama tonight at the FedEx Field as Clark still goes back to Washington to visit friends he made when playing there.
Still it should be a good game at the FedEx Field between the Steelers and the Redskins.

It’s just another day that Tiger wanted to rest. Let him rest, why not?
Tiger Woods, who has two wins in his last two starts, said he’s too tired to play at Westchester Country Club next week in the Barclays, the first event of the heavily promoted, four-week FedEx Cup playoffs.
“We’re obviously disappointed that he’s not going to play,” said Peter Mele, the executive director of the Barclays. “It’s kind of like when you’re in the football playoffs and the quarterback gets hurt. We still have a terrific field. We’ve moved on.”
Finchem was traveling and could not be reached for comment, but Ty Votaw, a Tour spokesman, echoed Mele’s remarks in comments to the AP, saying the Tour was “disappointed.”
I read an article from bloomberg.com that the Pentagon has paid a small South Carolina part supplier $20.5 million dollars in freight cost over the last 6 years and it was overlooked because they have an auto-payment system that pays suppliers as long as the orders are deemed high priority.
My first reaction was stated in the second half of the title “Why doesn’t the Pentagon use FedEx and ask the suppliers to use their account for shipping“?
As I thought about this more, all of these automatic bill pay that I’m enrolled in is basically the same thing as Pentagon’s auto-payment system. Right now, I’m basically automatically paying off my credit card bills, and to be honest, I don’t look at every line of every statement ever since everything became electronic and automatic. Could someone overcharge me for something? Of course they can. Will it get through without me noticing it at this point? Possibly.

FedEx strikes again today dropping the ball on EBGames and GameStop shipments of Gears of war. I got lucky, early this morning, as I nabbed a copy of the Collector’s Edition from my local retailer. At that point, they thought the regular version would be out by noon but it was a no go.
Slipping quietly under the radar were Call of Duty 3 and F.E.A.R.. Both were available in store and could have potentially eased your gaming depression.

The day was quite bittersweet. I dropped Yan-Shih off at the border so she could take her flight back, and I, dropping my head below my shoulders, took the subway back out to the hostel. For the next few days I would be trying to conserve money, just awaiting my passport.
