With the colder weather things are starting to get rough on the bird-table, There's been a lot of jostling and elbowing to get at the food. I got into a fight with a starling just the other day. I had him in a headlock and was rubbing his face in some left-over porridge when I noticed a bunch of quarrelling sparrows had swooped in and eaten everything! Now as you're all aware, some birds are lucky enough to have crops where they can shovel the food inquickly and then digest it at their leisure later on. This puts us 'cropless' blackbirds at a disadvantage. I haveuntil now been attempting to store food in my cheeks, hamster style, which is fine until someone slaps you on the back, then it has a habit of all shooting out again. All that is a thing of the past, I have discovered CARGO PANTS!!!
This is not a joke, this dude really does this shit. This is a man claiming to be the fattest contortionist around… and he may be right about that.
He is actually a performer that says he is the fattest contortionist around and does the same body tricks as the thin ones.
fat boy does the splits
I love this time of the year, because that's when all the list wizards come out with their best and worst lists of everything you can imagine. This list of the 10 fattest states in America caught my eye. Not too many surprises here to me, but props to Pennsylvania for dropping off the list. I distinctly remember when they had Philadelphia listed as the fattest city in the country. Been working out, Philly? ;)The Ten Fattest States in America1 Mississippi2 Alabama3 West Virginia4 Louisiana5 Tennessee6 South Carolina7 Kentucky8 Arkansas9 Michigan10 IndianaNow, I can't help but notice that most of those are southern states, and I must tell you, I'm not surprised. Not to insult my southern neighbors, but I know a little bit about southern lifestyle since my family is from the sou
Earlier this month Forbes.com ranked the most obese cities in America. They took into account 2006 body mass index data collected by the Center of Disease Control’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System which did phone interviews with residents regarding health issues. The results indicated that one-third of all Americans are obese. Sobering indeed. The study indicated the reasons for this overweight epidemic as many.
The causes, researchers say, are numerous. These include a diet of calorie-dense but nutrient-deficient food found in grocery and convenience stores, public planning strategies that favor motorists over walkers and cyclists, and simply bad habits.
And while the causes are many, the costs are enormous. Obesity’s associated costs add $93 billion to the nation’s medical bill annually. Each year, 112,000 people die from obesity-related causes, and the condition is responsible for an increased risk of chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes, cancer and hea
I have to say that reading this today did not really surprise me. I work in the Health Industry so know first hand that Australia has a big problem with obesity.
Infact, Australia is now one of the fattest nations in the developed world.
A new International report released by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development shows that Australia is now one of the worst performers on obesity. One in every four Australians now has a body mass indes (BMI) of over 30.
Australia had the fifth highest adult obesity rate, 21.7 per cent, behind the US, 32.2 per cent, Mexico, 30.2 per cent, the UK, 23 per cent, and Greece, 21.9 per cent.
Australians are gaining weight even faster than people in the US, a notoriously fat nation.
So it appears that the mass media coverage and education initiatives aimed at informing people of the risks of obesity to their health just aren’t working or making little difference.

ALEISK, Russia - Looking after the possibly the world's fattest baby is not easy -- especially when you live in a cramped apartment in Siberia and have 11 other children to care for.
Tatyana Khalina gave birth on September 17 to Nadia, who weighed a whopping 7.75 kg (17.1 lb) at birth beating this baby by an ounce. A month later Nadia was finally able to go home from hospital to the family's three-bedroom apartment in Aleisk, a town in Russia's Far East.
The air was thick with the shouts and laughter of Tatyana's children playing in the apartment -- she now has nine daughters and three sons. The oldest is 12 years old.
Tatiana's husband is Viktor, a driver in the Russian army.
"For the kids I receive 3,500 rubles ($141.3) a month and Viktor's salary is 10,000 rubles," she said, scratching her arm. "That's only enough for food."
That works out at a monthly income of around $545 for the family of 14. See Article via
No matter how you tip the scales, People are getter wider every year. What’s worse is that many nations are following suit.
In a list of the countries with the greatest percentage of overweight people, Nauru tops a list of countries with the greatest percentage of overweight people, with an alarming 94.5% of its adult population (ages 15+) classified as such, based on the most recent estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The U.S. weighs in at No. 9, with 74.1% of those over 15 years old considered overweight. But given that its population is nearly 20,000 times that of Nauru, clearly the U.S.’s size belies it rank.
There are currently 1.6 billion overweight adults in the world, according to the World Health Organization. That number is projected to grow by 40% over the next 10 years. The following list reflects the percentage of overweight adults aged 15 and over. These are individuals who have individual body mass indexes, which measures weight relative to height,

I’m winding down for the weekend and that means a simple video post (I intend to do this every Friday). Throw out your funny cat pictures. You won’t know whether to laugh or be appalled by this video. The owners must have had this cat on walrus diet. The video features this 40 pound cat [...]
Who loves shopping? Do you? I love shopping too. However, when pet owners go shopping their pets can be pretty lonely at home all alone. What's the next best thing? Take Fido with you! That's what I witnessed last week inside the Giordano store in Hongdae. I saw quite possibly one of the fattest dogs in South Korea. This cute doggy was INSIDE the store roaming around and trying on socks and underwear. My first reaction was "gee, I wonder how you would taste on the barbecue?"--that was a joke, please calm down all you dog lovers out there! ;-)Anyways, check out the following video of this pooch in action (that voice is our friend wanting a picture):I feel sorry for the little legs that have to carry all this weight:"Do these pants make me look fat?"On a side note at the next store, this girl was nice enough to pour some scalding hot tea into my mouth--thanks lady:
This comes as no suprise to me, but I am sure that all over Britian, little indignant gasps and “tut tut”s are being heard as the weeble-wobble people of Europe discover that with respect to girth at least, they might as well be Americans.
I find it particularly amusing because the British are, to borrow their word, such gits with respect to their attitudes on America, particularly when it comes to food. I can’t tell you how many conversations Jenn and I have had about how fat Americans (as fat as the Brits it turns out) are or about how much bigger McDonald’s portions are in the States (same size) or how Americans all eat nothing but fast food. Jenn was actually asked how many times a day she ate McDonalds a day when we lived in the States.
So, to see these same hypocritical gobshites that run their uneducated mouths and then turn around and stuff meat pies through school fences so that their spheroid sproggen will not have to eat the icky vegetables (not even
The little news ticker on CNN shows that Bam Margera got married this past weekend. I was a bit surprised to see it make the news, though he’s made quite a name for himself in the entertainment/mtv and skateboarding industries. I’ve been following his progression from the CKY skate videos to Jackass to Viva La Bam, and now Bam’s Unholy Union, plus I’m a big fan of his brother’s band, CKY (Camp Kill Yourself). I have to give it to the guy for making millions as a skater/entertainer. Seems like a crazy life. He’s made millions from it though, and has the Lambo’s to show for it.
I heard from my friend Eric for the first time in a year or so. He was a college roomate, and one of the guys I went with on my first backpacking trip (to Europe) back in 1998. It sucks to lose touch with friends. It just seems to happen. It really takes effort on both sides to stay close, especially when you live far away.
I’ve been something of a hibernat
The Government yesterday released figures that show two-thirds of men and almost 60% of women are unhealthily heavy, making them the fattest people in Europe.
The problem is now being passed to children, if nothing changes, nearly a third of boys and girls aged under 11 will be overweight or obese by 2010.
The study also highlights a north-south divide within England. Life expectancy is one year shorter for woman and two years shorter for men in the north of England compared with the south.
The public health minister said that the UK led Europe in obesity for a combination of reasons, some of which were cultural and associated with shopping and family habits.
The government has set itself the target of halting the year on year rise in obesity among children under 11 by 2010. But it does not set a similar target for stopping the weight gain in adults, aiming instead to encourage people to “want to change their lifestyles and take responsibility for their health”.
