KOOBA HandbagsBy NEDRA RHONEThe Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionRunway Atlanta sounds like an oxymoron. Runway New York or Runway Paris, sure. But, well, Atlanta isn't world-renowned for any runways other than the ones at Hartsfield-Jackson. Jeannine Robertson hopes to change all that. Her aptly named boutique, tucked into a small space in Pharr Plaza, caters to Atlantans who walk through life wanting to be noticed. "I felt there was a lack of trendy things that I like in Atlanta, especially shoes and different funky types of things in Buckhead," said Robertson, who opened her shop in December.Racks of clothing hang at the entrance of the store in narrowly spaced aisles holding all manner of dresses, tops, denim and even black latex leggings. A purple and brown Ghita halter dress for $465 was

By Joanna BlytheDaily Mail Not so long ago the fastest way to update your wardrobe was, ironically, by throwing in something old and a bit tatty - a 1940s tea dress from your gran's wardrobe, a 1950s cashmere cardigan from a charity shop or a retro brooch you bought for 50p at a car boot sale. But now vintage is everywhere it's a different story. As ever in fashion, the cache is in exclusivity. Which is why true fashionistas are becoming obsessed with the "new vintage" - clothes with provenance. Think: Chanel circa 1925, limited- edition Birkins or Dior designed by Gianfranco Ferre. The market for luxury vintage pieces with proven heritage or connection to an iconic design house has exploded. Never has there been so much cachet for a celebrity to sport archive Valentino or Chanel on the red carpet. Auction houses such as Christie's now regularly host sales of vintage clothing. As a result of this demand, the price of designer vintage has more than quadrupled in the p
Remember when you were little, and the most interesting books were the pop-up books; it was like television for smart kids who liked to read. Now, Neiman Marcus is giving us fashionistas a way to go back to the wonderful days of nap-time, coloring books, and snacks with their very own pop-up book. Continue Reading…
Presenting the newest Bluetrek chunky Bluetooth headsets featuring a jeweled design. The Sugar line is intended to be rocked as a necklace which conceals each headset’s techy side. Its also a mere 41mm x 19mm x 10mm while weighing 8.5 grams, and has an operational range of up to 10 meters. Its battery life is 10.5 days on standby time, and 7 hours of talk time which should be sufficient. It also comes with Voice Alert (which might be useful), that reminds you of actions in your headset such as redial, the last number, reject a call, call your favorite number, when your headset needs to be charged and if your headset is connected/disconnected from your headset…

Dear All Fashionistas,The first time I arrive at the New York fashion week at Bryant Parkin Feb 2006 what excited me the most was seeing the fashions coming down the runway. The "celebrities" in my head was Andre Leon Talley I completely almost fell out of my fifth row chair when he strutted in the Promenade, but I digress. Anyway no actress, socialite, musician or reality star has ever gotten a thrill out of me just from going to a fashion show, if so what's the purpose? They are usually there to get some publicity anyway.I think many media outlets has forgot about the real idea of what is New York Fashion Week or any fashion week around the world. It's really to celebrate (postively or negatively) small or huge designers creations, ideas and garments that's presented in a runway presentation or showroom. Should New York Fashion week really matter how many celebrities shows up? The designers should be the main focus of attention this fashion week, am I wrong? It seemed many people w
Do your kids bicker? Mine do. So when they started arguing in the supermarket today I tried to ignore it, figuring they'd work it out between themselves. I was getting pretty tired of trying to help them negotiate whose turn it was to push the cart, or whether the Strawberry Kiwi juice boxes were better than the Minute Maid lemonades. But then I noticed it was getting a little heated so I

GreenloopThe term "green fashion" used to conjure up images of dirty looking recycled cotton tee shirts and fugly pleather shoes. Not exactly the stuff fashionistas are made of. With the rise of eco-consciousness among urban dwellers and the Hollywood elite, fashion is starting to catch up with the green revolution. Suddenly, green looks awfully chic. Still don't think that green fashion is for you? Check out the hot online store Greenloop. It will make a believer out of you. Greenloop was created as an adventure in "market based environmentalism." What does that mean? Every single thing sold at Greenloop is made by a company that has dedicated itself to environmentalism and social responsibility. From organic clothing and beauty products, to items made with free trade commodities, Greenloop pulls together the best goods for the modern eco-fashionista and showcases them on one easy to navigate website. Still not sold on the idea of environmentally conscious fashion? I have a few finds
I learned about this huge web portal on a news podcast on technology. Checking it out, I found it to be a one-stop shop for fashion ideas. So convenient just before Christmas! Certain fashions and new trends are featured in articles that are linked to one of 200 member sites. One of my favorite columns on this site is Designer Q&A (Under Fashion), featuring Zach Posen, Diane Von Furstenberg, Cynthia Rowley, Angela Missoni, and more.Click here, dahlings.
