Fall Out Boy was on track to join the Guiness Book of World Records yesterday, with the shortest amount of time to play the most shows all over the world. They hit a bump in the road, however, with weather conditions in Antartica not exactly cooperating. Therefore the boys were stuck in Chile, awaiting word on what to do. Jamie posted about Keri and I couldn't help but follow her lead to help this mom. She is afflicted with ALS, and the news article about her said she's dying at the age of 29.Reading the news article was a heart breaker. I could just feel her pain and her family's pain. But the most pain I had felt is when she said that she's angry with God because of all these things that are happening to her. I can truly understand why she's angry with God, and yet I also truly know that being angry with God will not help her in this circumstance. And so aside from praying for healing, for financial support, for comfort, I also pray that Keri would be touched by God in such a way that she would, without a shadow of a doubt, know that God loves her. I know... I know it's hard to believe and trust God in a circumstance like her... but what are the options - anger? bitterness? I must have died and gone to Dagobah today. So much Star Wars news! On its next voyage, the space shuttle Discovery will be carrying one of the most iconic symbols of nerd history: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber. Why do you ask? Not only 'cause it's LONG overdue, but also because it is to commemorate the 30 year anniversary of the series. They are even having a huge ceremony take place.Before departing on its travel to get to Johnson Space Center, Chewbacca will hand off the lightsaber to officials. Other characters, including Boba and Jango Fetts (yay), will join in the festivities and usher the plane off to its destination. Upon touching down in Houston, Texas, the lightsaber will be intercepted by Storm Troopers and R2-D2, making it possibly the most awkward combination ever. Just to make sure no Imperial funny tricks happen, other characters will also join it. I want to go to Italy. I want to go not because of the culture, the history, not even because of the fashion. Well, they are part of the reason, but what really inspired me to want to visit Italy are books that doesn’t even have any pictures of Italy in it. So I have finally been motivated to leave my island paradise for a brief time. I grew up back East in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. - the very belly of the beast, so to speak – in fact I even went to Georgetown University, back in the ’80s. Last night I was up insanely late working on my gargantuan advertising project, and then even later talking to Sarah and the demise of our friendship.
