Why do so many people believe in the predictions of Nostradamus? Or the sayings of someone who claims to be psychic? What is the reasoning behind believing that a deck of cards is able to tell a person things about the future?
Can someone at the other end of the phone line really predict [...]

Stern Testifies In Smith Inquest -
By TOSHEENA ROBINSON-BLAIR:
Nassau, Bahamas -
A close friend of the former US reality TV star the late Anna Nicole Smith not only recounted the final hours of the celebrity’s 20-year-old son’s life while on the witness stand Tuesday, but also refuted previous testimony that he possibly got rid of evidence.
California attorney Howard K. Stern was the last witness to take the stand in the Coroner’s Inquest that began in November, but was delayed while the court tried to secure testimony from American witnesses – who are not compelled to come to The Bahamas to give evidence in the matter.
On the witness stand Tuesday, Mr. Stern described the young man as a good person, even though his mother sent him to live with caretaker Raymond Martino after
SUNGAI PETANI: A woman carefully packed her son's severed fingertip in ice and rushed it to the hospital hoping that doctors would be able to re-attach it. However, a hospital staff took one look at it and decided it could not be re-attached. He then flushed the digit down the toilet. A flabbergasted Zuraiza Omar has lodged a police report on the incident and is claiming that Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital was negligent. Zuraiza's son, Muhamad Shaeidil Amir, 11, was injured on Friday when he accidentally sliced off the tip of his left forefinger while cutting off the top of a coconut with a parang at his home in Kampung Batu Menunggul, Air Putih, Pendang. "My son was referred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 11am, on Friday. I also took the fingertip, which I packed in ice," said the 35-year-old housewife. She said her son was treated at the hospital's emergency department, and a staff there asked her for the finger tip. "He looked at it and said it could
“Flushed Away” did not make me laugh, just a forced smile here and there. It’s not entirely bad, but not exciting either. I watched this 3D animated feature on DVD, so I don’t know if children will like it.
Rody (Hugh Jackman) is a pet mouse who lives in a golden cage in an upper-class penthouse in Kensington. His posh life in intruded upon by a sewer rat Sid (Shane Richie - all I know about him is that he invested about half a million pounds into a movie that holds all-time lowest box-office record), who just popped up from the sink and believes he found a goldmine, hit the jackpot. Rody tries to get rid of the unwelcome guest in “his” apartment by flushing him down the “whirlpool”, but himself ends up being flushed by Sid. After a standard going-down-the drain rollercoaster, Rody finds himself in the world he could not even imagine: an entire underground rat civilization: Ratropolis - an incredibly detailed copy of London made entir
K left me alone with the short people for the whole weekend to attend his best friend Brian's fortieth birthday in Albuquerque – a town whose name is awfully hard to type.K flew out Friday after work and won’t be back until late tonight.I was a bit nervous about managing the house of joy on my own, but now that the children are bedded down, I would say that I prevailed.First, employing my trusty organizing skills, I packed in activities so that when the time rolled around The Mayor and The Rooster were begging for their naps.“Ask Mommy again, but more nicely this time." Second, I had the foresight to schedule a babysitter for this afternoon.I figured I might need a break – and even if I didn’t – I decided I’d take one anyway.I went to the gym, swam and then went to a movie by myself.I’m kind of pissed off because I chose to see a film called Waitress and though the paper gave it an A- and said blah, blah, poignant, blah, blah... I didn’t like it.Apparently all that i
Have you found yourself having any one of these symptoms?
Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead.
Small visible blood vessels on the face.
Bumps or pimples on the face.
Watery or irritated eyes.
The most common of all are the first two. I’ve known people whose faces look perpetually flushed, whether it is hot or cold. In our hot and humid weather the redness is even more accentuated. In fact, my brother seems to have some of the symptoms but not to a very severe degree. If you have these symptoms, you might have Rosacea.
Rosacea is a skin condition that doesn’t seem to be widely talked about here in Malaysia. I find it rather odd, as the number one trigger for rosacea is actually sun exposure, followed by stress and hot weather. Our country, being hot and humid, has 2 of the top three triggers of this disorder, yet I don’t hear much about it. Is it because it is not very common here, despite the sun and hot weather? Or is it that its as yet an undiagnosed con
Gus died today.
Who is Gus you ask? Gus was my trusty, rusty push lawnmower. He was a $99 Wal-Mart special - special being the operative word. I pushed him over countless miles of lawn and he cut it all without fail, until today.
Once the time of death was called and Gus was put to rest, we hopped in Stella (She’s my van. I sorta like to name things.) and drove to Lowe’s to purchase a replacement. Everyone had some input - Julia wanted a red one, Dave wanted one that was self-propelled and I wanted one that wouldn’t cost much money. We all won when we found Big Red.
Big Red is used, but new to us. His former owner callously bent his axle and then dumped him off to be fixed and never returned. Our Lowe’s store associate, Lyle, lovingly repaired Big Red and offered him to the friendliest family he could find for half the regular purchase price. And so, Big Red became Big Red Grimmett.
Before we could take Big Red home, I had to go to the potty. Dave
