The Sandbanks ferry was out of service due to maintenance work so the bus had to travel the whole distance from Bournemouth by land (hence the appalling punning title of this post!) but I arrived at the Grand Hotel in good time for my 11.15

      Pasig River Ferry Cruise
Out of curiousity, my mom, Julie and I went to try out the ferry service in Pasig River one Sunday morning of August 2007. The ride is considered the "fastest link" to travel from east to west of Metro Manila (and vice-versa).So we started our trip by going to Guadalupe Station. There was a 25 PHP one-way fare promo every weekend because it is usually the off-peak days because most offices do not h

Ledyard and Gales Ferry Homes for Sale, Pending and SoldGas, heating oil, and listings.  That's the topic of discussion for this week as each continues to climb.  We have reached 136 active listings on the market in Ledyard this week.  To put that in perspective, a balanced market would be about half as many homes on the market.  While the number of listings continues to rise,

The Telectroscope at the Fulton Ferry Landing
Born of artist Paul St. George's fascination with the spectacular inventions of the late 19th century, the Telectroscope, one in New York at the Fulton Ferry Landing near the Brooklyn Bridge, and the other in London at Tower Bridge on the south side of the river, does look like something out of H.G. Wells or Jules Verne. Inventing an imaginative back story, St. George credits his great-grandfather

      Ferry-to-Ferry Tram?
Even though Island Transit does a fine job with it's free bus service on Whidbey Island, I think we could use a radical change in our transportation system. When we get a Whidbey PUD, we'll have access to inexpensive electrical power, so it will make sense to use some of that power on electric mass transit. The most efficient transportation option for us may well be some form of light rail.
