Every so often I feel the need to pull one of Bei Dao's poems off my shelf to read. Though they can be difficult to grasp you can feel his isolation being an exile. How much of a fan am I? This is sad really. I already owned soft-cover copies of all his books when I ordered hardbound versions. I remember he was the first poet I ever saw at first Dodge Poetry Festival I attended. Here are a few poems written by Dao. Enjoy. It is ironic how I keep being drawn to Old Snow, a book focussing almost entirely on his exile. I want to write my own version being a person who's lived in the same area his whole life. I have to admit I am not sure what I shall write about. And would whoever decides these things finally give him The Noble Prize?
I listen to various metal genres but melodic death metal is the one blowing minds. It just sounds so damn good. For some reason Swedish death metal bands are good, and one of them is Soilwork. Swedish metal music is getting better and better. Soilwork is a band who should get a bit more attention. Their music sounds good with aggressive guitar work and screaming combined with melodic parts with clear vocals. Soilwork rocks and that’s it!

Older RPG fans will remember Blades of Exile by Spiderweb software, a top-down isometric sprite based role-playing game (gasps for air) from way back in 1997. The game is so old that its source code is now being offered for fans to tinker with, free. So, a little piece of RPG history has died its commercial death and passed into the hands of its users.
