The Department of Tourism (DOT), Intramuros Administration (IA) and the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) Manila recently opened Vintage Warcraft, an exhibit of scale models of World War II weapons and equipment at the Intramuros Visitor Center in Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.
"The exhibit provides a new dimension to seeing the already historic Fort Santiago. The best way to experience Manila is to understand its history. I'm referring here to myself here and my idiotic naive rant flaunting Steve McClaren's decision to start Scott Carson ahead of Paul Robinson. Nothing left to do but own up: Yes I did say that. My exact words were "with Scott Carson in goal, England cannot fail." I was being facetious to an extent, but it all blew up in my face. So bring it on: howl and laugh all you want. I can take it!The game will in all likelihood cost McClaren his job, but I still think benching Robbo was the right decision. No telling how many goals he would have cost England (based on recent performances). And Carson did redeem himself to some extent with a brilliant save in the second half right when England were gaining the momentum. Of course he also nearly cost England another one in the first half. And we'll never know if this was the game Robbo finally managed to turn his form around. Maybe McClaren should have given Robert Green a chance or (gasp!) gone with David James or Wigan's Chris Kirkland. Point

Last night I ventured deep into the netherworld that is L.A. This was an adventure insofar as life behind the Orange Curtain is...well...different. Sort of like Oz. It is a very protected suburban society, and we view the rest of the urban world from the safety of our homes, via the television, or, better yet, the Internet.While it was a little unsettling at first to see the continuous lineup of buildings adorned with iron-barred windows, graffiti, undefinable stains, and iron fencing with razor sharp points, suitable for impaling intruders ---- we then began to emerge into a much cooler area with all sorts of urban chic shops, retro diners, and upscale restaurants that I was absolutely sure hosted at least one or more movie stars. AND Paramount Studios!Lucky for me (like never before), I was not driving. We were on this outing to attend Heather's exhibition at the SuperG Gallery in L.A. Heather is our friend and fellow First Impressions group member. She is also a very talente

The exhibit shows a series of tiny 5 inch square photo proofs by Ansel Adams that he never intended anyone to see. The small museum is not far from the inland waterway where Adams shot the pictures in 1940.
They are taken of a landscape that lacks the majesty of his photographic series of the Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park. The works were photographed with a hand-held camera. It comes as no surprise that the Trust which controls the use of Adam’s work objects to the exhibit, disputing photo proofs as art.
