Exercise, Exercise, come on everybody do your exercise! ( What is that song/saying from, I remember it from somewhere in my childhood ???)
So ladies who exercises regularly, or semi-regularly, or once a month, or who even thinks about exercising?
Thinking is at least a start!

You walk into your local health club. You look at all the fancy treadmills and intimidating machines at the facility to get you shape. What are you supposed to do? Should you run/walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes? Should you push out a couple sets of bench presses? The answer to your question really [...]
CAIR is complaining that the use of a building as a mosque, replete with muslim terrorists holding civilian hostages portrays muslims in a negative light.
Storming of Illinois ‘Mosque’ Sends Wrong Message, Islamic Group Says
(CNSNews.com) - As part of a recent emergency preparedness drill in south-central Illinois, law enforcement personnel stormed a “mosque” where radical
Brad Pitt cruised around LA again on his bike Wednesday without an oh so pregnant Angelina. He's loving his motorcycle collection these days, this time taking his orange bike out for a spin. Even when his face is covered up by his helmet, Brad is always a little piece of enjoyment for Friday. Then again, we wouldn't mind if Brad took a break from being a bad ass to get some family-style exercise on his other bike.

By the time mid-February comes around on the Gulf coast, signs of spring are usually in the air and have not gone unnoticed by fish and fishermen alike. Now that water temperatures have begun their climb to more accommodating levels, gamefish will soon become more accommodating, too, as the sun warms the shallow flats and baitfish gather on the shorelines. There is probably no better time of year than between February and May to catch a trophy speckled trout - for the wall, or a once in a lifetime photo, then quick release. This is particularly true if you are fishing the lower Texas coast. If it has survived in good health since its catch and release in May 2002, when it bottomed out a 15 lb. scale, there’s at least one speckled trout cruising the Laguna Madre that could easily best the current 17 lb. 7 oz. world record caught at Fort Pierce, Florida. One of the easiest and most stealthy ways to prowl the flats in search of heavy trout this time of year, as well as any other season fo
Two studies report that exercise and yoga can help maintain and in some cases improve quality of life in women with early-stage breast cancer. The first study found that resistance and aerobic exercise improved physical fitness, self-esteem and body composition, and that resistance exercise improved chemotherapy completion rates. The second study demonstrated that yoga was particularly beneficial for women who were not receiving chemotherapy during the study period. Both studies will be published online September 4 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology(JCO).Resistance and Aerobic ExerciseIn the first study, Canadian investigators explored the effects of exercise on quality of life, physical fitness and body composition in women receiving chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer. This study, the Supervised Trial of Aerobic versus Resistance Training (START) trial, is the largest to date to explore the effects of exercise during chemotherapy and one of the first to evaluate a regimen of
Personally, I've never dropped any el bees without getting my ass off the couch. Between work and sitting at the computer, secretary's spread has been the bane of my existence, and any time I've decided to NOT exercise that spread, well spreads. I can dine on all the carrot sticks and water I want, if I don't move, I don't lose. For those who do, God Bless you and your high metabolism. I was born with the metabolism of a sloth. So all that said, Tim Ferris, author of the "Four Hour Workweek" (Which is not unlike my favorite song by Bandway "Four Day Weekend") has an interesting post on his blog about "How to Lose 20lbs of Fat in 30 Days...Without Exercising." (I must say I like his style, no excercising, a short work week, I wonder if he's single?)The diet is a bit male-centric, but then what isn't. He's based it on the diet of ultramarathoner Dean Karnares who used it to train for 50 marathons in 50 days. Wait a minute, don't they exercise to marathon? It's a lot of good prot
You know how during marathons runners are handed cups of water along the path? What kind of challenge is that? C'mon, suck it up, runners! Those crafty folk up in Wisconsin came up with a better running event in which we could totally see ourselves competing. From ABC:Several hundred people laced up Sunday morning for a two-mile charity race in which suds were the refresher of choice. Competitors in the 19th annual Beer Belly Two might not be considered athletes, but they know how to have a good time.Several hundred? I thought this was in Wisconsin. Where's the state pride, people? Hold this in downtown Chicago and you'd draw more people than the Gay Pride Parade. One competitor in the event sums up the experience nicely:"My kids are running it, so hopefully they're already at the finish line and I'll see them in an hour or so," said racer Doug Burmeister. "You know, there's a lot of beer stops."Run this around the Viagra Triangle in Chicago and I bet a million people would show. A
Exercise For The Indoor Cat
by: Laurie Buckley, admin
When owning an indoor only cat, the cat must be provided with opportunities for exercise and encouraged often to play games. Some welcome diversions you may offer to your cat are large, strong cardboard boxes (be sure they never contained any hazardous material), corrurgated paper and tubes of cardboard. You may also wish to purchase an indoor ‘climbing tree’ from your local pet store. To remind a cat of its hunting skills, catnip mice and other similar toys will do nicely. Be sure to also provide some kind of a scratching post as it is essential.
You know when you think "If I bought gym equipment so I could exercise at home, I wouldn't need to go to a gym"? A clever person then realises that if your not going to a gym the chances of you doing exercise are less than your chances of surviving a raptor attack. I've had a few of these moments, and by my own metaphor, I would be a bloody lump of bones, being picked through by prehistoric scavengers. In my attempts to lower my gym bills I have purchased a number of pieces of fitness equipment. I've used a few of them, but most of the time they just lean against the wall, taking up much needed living space. A few times I've not even assembled the equipment. Here's my top 5:1. A Powerball - Used 3 times in a year.2. A Rowing Machine - Used quite a bit in the first 2 years, once or twice in the 2 years since.3. Free Weights - Used quite a bit for six months, once or twice in the 3 years since.4. A Weight Bench - Never been used.5. Cross Trainer - Bought 2 weeks ago, not been used ye
If you're anything like me you get real tired of the scaremongering that seems to be a steady staple of politicians, media, health freaks and so on.Here is a basic human truth - you are going to die. There is no cure. Accept it, and get on with life. If you are lucky enough to enjoy good health, all the better, don't be wastin' it. If you're blessed with a lot more than just good health, be doubly grateful. (I'm not a fatalist, but do like to think of myself as a realist). What got me goin' on this subject? Well, as I mentioned in my previous post, there ain't no point in worryin' about the things you can do nothin' about. As an example; everyone on earth has followed the growing debate about global warming. For all of you who are feeling hugely guilty, or afraid of the consequences of mankind's huge impact on nature, go and read this post about global warming. This fella could be wrong but he sure puts forward some logical and telling arguments - to my mind at least.Do you fe
By now, everyone knows that exercise is great for healthy individuals, and most exercise programs are designed for them. But will exercise help someone who has cancer? In the past, cancer patients were told to rest and avoid physical activity. This sounds reasonable, since one of the most commonly reported side effects of cancer and its treatment is fatigue. It would make sense that if one is tired, he should rest. The problem, however, is that this leads to a never ending cycle. Prolonged inactivity leads to muscle wasting and loss of strength. When muscles are weaker, they fatigue more quickly, affecting everyday tasks, such as walking up stairs, or housekeeping.
