      Dog-Blog: Getting bigger every day...
I'm not sure whether this title refers to me or Cooper.  With all this high fructose corn syrup they pump into everything over here it's a wonder I can get up off the sofa.  Mind you, that may be due to all the ice-cream, chocolate, pizza and alcohol I've been guzzling to get my sleep deprived body through the day. Cooper is indeed getting bigger every day and he's definitely doubled in size

Every day is a new hairstyle day
I can still remember one class I had during my college days. My Psychiatric Nursing lecturer once commented about my having a new hairstyle again, as I had another one the previous day, and I just said, “Every day is a new hairstyle day.” I don't know if it were because of the need to be recognized or the plain interest to be a different me every day, at least in the way I look, that I had to

It was on the eve of Brad's birthday, Charla told him that his present was going to be sex with her every day for a year! Charla wan

      Every Day In May
Hey kids! It's time for another round of Every Day in May! Unfortunately, I will have to be excusing myself from it for this year. I've been spending months, literally, getting my energy back, and most evenings instead of drawing or painting, I'm laying down. I'm building my reserves back up tiny bit by tiny bit, and while I am royally annoyed at how long it's taking me, I know that forcing myself to paint and upload and comment every day, especially during recital month, is going to set me back rather than build me up. And it's frustrating as all get out. There's a part of me that says, "Come on! You can do it! This is time for your creativity to shine! Paint how you're feeling!" And the other part of me looks at that ridiculously cheerful person and wants to hit them. :) So here's wh

And clean water, clean air, and healthy land are what will allow our children's children to enjoy these experiences for years to come. The first Earth Day was commemorated on April 22nd, 1970, bringing together for the first time various groups involved in helping to protect the environment and conserve natural resources. Although we have made great strides in cleaning up pollution, preventing new pollution, and helping to conserve and protect our air and water, we need to continue this stewardship in order to maintain a healthy environment for current and future generations. We can make "Earth Day Every Day" by doing some simple

Three points that everyone should know concerning the 7,000 students who drop out of high school every day.
You couldn’t view any media source recently without hearing that 7,000 students drop out of high schools every day. It is a serious concern – and it is a very complicated problem. CNN equated the situation to 7,000 students “going missing” each day. Equating drop outs with missing children sensationalizes the story and while it grabs attention, it only creates a panic for a quick fix, rather than helping to promote the large scale overhaul of communities and schools that is truly needed. The comments of the “experts” who have been interviewed have offered little help. To most of them, the fix is centered on higher “accountability” on the part of schools, more “rigor” for students, or more “relevance” in subjects for students. And of course, NCLB proponents always st

Happy Spring to all!  It's finally here in Northern Virginia, but the March Winds/blahs are trying to hang on here, Easter Weekend.  Yesterday was a chilly but brilliant day.  The sky was so clear and blue, it made me feel very hopeful.   Yesterday, I was able to telework from home.  It is a terrific way to work, and to be able to focus solely on one project, without all the interruptions for the Answer Queen.  So while I didn't get to enjoy the day so much, I didn't have to struggle with the Metro DC traffic ~ a blessing in itself!  And my technology worked perfectly, with no glitches!  Thank you FIOS.   And lo and behold, the AT called me.  And we had a fine conversation about house shopping, his recording business, and my work. &nbs

Strangers Die Every Day - Safer In The Ground
A string trio with a bass and drum tells a powerful story without words. We are traveling to parts unknown simply to explore possibilities and understandings. For me the sound is progressive rock without the hired singer destroying the moment. I can’t count how many times I’ve thought ‘I wish that guy would shut up so I can hear the music’. These players & the composer wisely chose to let us take our own journey through the soul without interference from someone else’s dream. The electric bass and drums accent the music and do not overwhelm. I feel they are an integral part of the mix and enhance the flavors of this delicious meal. Strangers Die Every Day

Every Day Is Halloween For Christians
A line from one of the many Halloween specials I've seen over the years has stuck with me: the idea that Halloween was thought to be the day of the year when the barrier between the world of the living and the spirit world was thinnest and most permeable. Silly to be sure, but I remember being impressed with the idea as a child. As an adult, I am amazed that Christians actually believe this sort of thing. They take their bibles literally, worshiping a zombie and confident that angels and demons are locked in battle for their souls. Every day must be like Halloween!Let me say at the outset that I am convinced that a large number of so-called Christians do not actually believe much of what their bible tells them they are supposed to believe. They call themselves Christians, attend church, and engage in the occasional religious ritual for reasons other than belief. Maybe they do it to belong and be accepted. Maybe they do it because that was how they were raised and going through the mot

Sometimes I feel I am on a merry go round that is twirling at hyperspeed, carnival music blaring noisily in the background, unable to focus on anything in particular because the days are a blur as they fly by me. The voice in my head is pleading for someone to stop the ride so I can get off and collect my thoughts before I have to jump back on. But the ride doesn't ever stop - children, husband, business, church...all require more of me than I feel I am able to give at times because of the intensity of my self-induced vertigo. My desire to take a day off and stay in bed during times like these is overwhelming. But I am a responsible person...a wife, a mom, a business owner. Life doesn't slow down just because I can't keep up. It marches steadily on, with me falling further and further behind in my duties and obligations. I am bound to this carousel of my so called life by the aforementioned duties and obligations. But, they are the anchors that keep me in my rightful place, not fette

8 Simple Ways to Enjoy Life Every Day
      1. Appreciate Beauty Each day we come across beauty in a number of shapes and forms. It’s a shame, then, that many people have become so accustomed to this beauty that it largely goes unappreciated. I suggest looking again at the people, plants, gadgets, and buildings (to name but a few examples) around you and taking a moment to appreciate what makes them so special. 2. Connect With Nature Nature is an amazing healer for the stresses and strains of modern life. Eating lunch in the park, attending to a vegetable garden in your backyard, or watching the sunset are just a few simple ideas for how you can enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis. 3. Laugh E. E. Cummings once said “the most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” How very true. Never be too busy to laugh, or too serious to smile. Instead, surround yourself with fun people and don’t get caught up in your own sense of importance. 4. Have Simple Pleasures A good cup of coffee when I first wake. Time spent playing with

Every Day is a Weird Day
I know, I know. That's the same pig from yesterday. I had no time for any photography last night, and today I brought my camera but forgot my compact flash card. So this is what you get. This morning got off to a strange start. They usually do. This time, I had awakened at 7:01am, but I couldn't see the clock very well at my angle and swore it said 1:01 (as in pm). Well, obviously, that freaked me out. I laid there and looked at the ceiling for a moment just contemplating the mess I'd made, and then it occurred to me that I should get a better look at the clock. By that time it was 7:05. Relieved, I almost immediately fell asleep for almost another hour, which, of course, put me behind schedule. I then got up and started to finish prepping my workday before falling asleep in the chair once again. I honestly don't remember what time I went to bed last night, but I want to say it was a reasonable hour. Not sure why all this happened.I also had two really vivid dreams last

Here's how to be consistent with your weight loss.I get a lot of emails from frustrated readers. Frustrated because they just can't stick to a program. And therefore, they just aren't getting results. And most of these people blame themselves - and oftentimes you guys are blaming yourselves pretty hard. But instead of laying blame, let's find you a solution instead. To be fair, in this world of fast food, comfortable chairs and 50,000 channels, it's only easy in theory to stick to a fat loss, muscle building lifestyle. In reality, we all have days where we want to skip out on our fitness needs. Here's a good tip from Men's Health online for those that are having trouble finding time to workout:Strike an agreement with your spouse and kidsThe rule: You get 1 hour to yourself every day, provided that you use it for exercise (and reciprocate the favor

Every Day is A New Day
Living near downtown,  I can hear the city waking up every morning.  It starts with a kind of buzz, as the traffic increases, and people head to work.  It is hard to take pictures at dawn without getting run over, but I didn't and here are some that I took on Thursday. Kellogg Boulevard, looking East, of course.  A friend asked how I get the clouds to cooperate when I take pictures.  It is  easy, I just ask them to be there and they show up. College Street Condos. Ways to Save Money Every Day of The Week
Being a student I’m always looking for ways I can save money. The more pennies I save during the week, the more I have for drinking money at the weekend! Monday - Get on your bike This is possibly one of the best and easiest ways to save time and money. Just leave the car at home, jump on your bike and ride to work. Not only do you save money on buying petrol, but it is also a good way to wake yourself up in the morning before work and it’s great exercise! Tuesdays - Shopping Offers Buy one get one free, 2 for a £1, you know what I’m talking about. It’s always a good idea to stock up on things you use regularly and that don’t go out of date (tinned tomatoes, pasta, rice, cereal) when they are on a good offer. However, you need to be careful of offers that aren’t as good as they seem. Yes those melons they are two for £1, but when they are only 52p each to start with then its not much of a saving. You end up buying something you don&r

U.S. Kills 300 Innocent Civilians Every Day in Iraq -- That is 10,000 Per Month
While the media is reporting more than 3,000 GI’s killed in Iraq and many civilian victims of inter-confessional violences, it looks away from the daily slaughter of civilians by U.S. patrols conducting their search operations for suspects. Professor Michael Schwartz estimates that their number reached 10,000 a month in the first 3 years of occupation. And much more since Bush ordered his surge of operations. That Beckham Deal Is Looking Better Every Day
It's been a while since we updated on the long journey from England for our superhero of soccer David Beckham. Let's see what ole Becks has been up to these days. I hope it involves some great soccer!!David Beckham didn't dress, missing his scheduled Major League Soccer debut because of a lingering ankle injury that kept him on the bench Sunday night during the Los Angeles Galaxy's 0-0 tie with Toronto FC.Beckham wasn't among the starting 11 or seven substitutes for the game, played before a sellout crowd of 20,522. Instead the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star watched intently from the bench, dressed in a navy blue suit and red necktie. Beckham did not speak to reporters following the game.Exactly how the MLS envisioned it I am sure. And no doubt the fans in attendance were just as thrilled.Fans wearing England and Real Madrid jerseys with Beckham's name on the back dotted the stands at BMO Field, but they were drowned out by a partisan crowd who booed when Beckham w

      It's casual Friday every day
Well, that was fun, doing a reading in my slippers, on the couch. Rick plans on more podcasts, so keep your eyes peeled for dates & times.Speaking of slippers, I once read an article about a woman who got tired of writing at home in jammies and bunny slippers. She decided to get glam, and got out of the writer's uniform and into a Chinese kimono. The mailman misunderstood.Webmomz.com sponsored a Wear Your Bathrobe to Work Day last year for women who work at home--even had a contest with a fluffy white hotel bathrobe as a prize. My Alice could have used one of those while looking after her sick mother-in-law:After weeks of pulling the dangling end of her sari out of Amma’s plate, untangling it from the equipment, and soothing the bruises where her bangles had dug into the old woman’s loose flesh, she gave up traditional dress in favor of tee shirts and shorts. She had dressed the part of the good daughter as a sign of respect, but it was impractical in the long run. She needed as m

The Information Diet: How You Can Find 6 Extra Hours in Every Day
My road to mobile freedom - the ability to travel wherever and whenever I wish - has sparked a number of other initiatives for me. The main one: living simpler and being happier with less. Less clutter, less clothing, less car … less “stuff”. And I’m not talking only about years of accumulating worthless physical things, but mental as well. Consumer and information overload. The other day, a colleague of mine mentioned that he has a forty-five minute roundtrip commute everyday. Twenty minutes or so each way to/from work. He said he realized how it was such a big waste of time and that he’d decided to start listening to books on tape, podcasts, language learning courses, etc. As part of Generation:Web, I can safely say that I consume too much information. Way too much information. And finding time, as my misguided coworker suggests, to cram more data into an increasingly small and precious amount of daily “quiet time” is definitely not

About the ladies who call me every day
I haven’t written anything about ladies etc in my blog. Let me break that trend and reveal some secrets in this post. Trying some humor after a long time. Hope you like it.Of late several ladies have been calling me, almost on a daily basis, not that my market value has catapulted overnight or any such reasons, just because I’ve chosen not to fall pray to any of the marketing strategies adopted by some companies. My most favorite lady caller is Miss Caller Tune. She is very much upset (when people are upset they stop calling, but this strange lady is not like that) with me because I’ve not opted for Hutch’s caller tune subscription. She calls me everyday and complains about this. Once I accept her call, before I can say anything, she starts speaking like below:"क्या यार् जब् भी कोइ तुम्हे फॉन् कर्ता है वही पुरानी ट्रि०ग् ट्रि०ग् सुनाई देता है| प

Always help your baby every day
Here are things you can do to help your baby every day: Babies learn by watching and touching things.Watch him closely. Take good care of your baby. When you do this, you help him learn about language and its many uses. Use sounds, songs, gestures and words with your baby.He will begin to know that there are reasons for this. Your child will begin to know that some behavior is OK at some times but not at other times. Try to keep an orderly, healthy routine. Make sure your home is a safe place for him to explore.Communicate. It can cause the wrong lessons to be learned. Punishment can be very harmful to babies. Punishment does not work with babies.Never permit others to tease, punish or shake him. Don’t tease or punish him. Protect your baby from disapproval. This is as simple as helping him to pat his hands together. Let him try new things over and over again.Learning goes on each time your baby practices a skill. Do activities over and over again with your baby. Do this with giggles

You won't be invited to the block party if you spend every day in your house
I have had my Pink Internet Marketing blog on BlogCatalog since March 28, 2007. Since then, I have been finding blogs and have been found using this blog directory/blogging community site.I think the most important rule of thumb I want to mention is this: If you want someone to favourite your site or join your community or visit your blog, you must make the initiative. I have on several occasions had people leave Shouts on my page telling me to do something that they have not done for me. But, if someone adds me as a friend or joins my community, I most certainly reciprocate, and many people on BlogCatalog do the same. In fact, if asked to do those things in Shout, I am even less apt to do so. And in many cases, I notice they have not even bothered to visit my blog at all, which brings me to point #2.If you want to increase the number of people visiting your site, you must make the rounds. If they have the BlogCatalog widget, they will see your "avatar" or picture and may be intrigued

The Bali Flowers: Why We Need Them Every Day?
Traveling to Bali, beside enjoying the beautiful panorama of the paradise island, you will also observe various kind of plants and flowers. The flowers has a very important role in Balinese life and culture. I must say, I don’t think Balinese can pass any single day without flower. This sounds like an exaggeration, but after reading this post, I am sure you will agree. There are many kinds of flowers growing in Bali, namely, rose, jasmine, frangipani, hibiscus, and buogenville. If you ask me, what is the Bali flower, then the answer is Sandat. I am not quite sure what its translation in English. Sandat is very popular, not for decoration or for a gift to your girl friend, but for offerings and ’tool’ for praying. It is yellow in colour, and has a beautiful smell. Even if the colour turns black, because it is already dry, the scent remains. There is a Balinese song written by local composer that tells about this flower. The song is about an advice to Balinese young girl

every day in may: thirty-one (ta-daaaah!)
Well, the fishies aren't done, but you haven't seen the last of them! I'll finish the painting up and post on the progress, whenever it's completed. I've enjoyed painting each day, and even though I won't be posting a new pic every day, I'll still be creating like mad - though in June I'll be looking forward to having time to do other things, like sew, cook, and do some journal writing. Not to mention spending more time with the hubby since he's done teaching... :) Congratulations to everyone who pledged to create every day, and to those who supported them. I would love to hear from everyone - how'd it go? Was it fun? Was it torture? Would you do it again? See all my month's posts for May here. See the whole Flickr group here! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the NEWS!

So I decided to just jump in and get splashy and wet with it. Believe me, I had a lot more fun! :) ♥ May may be almost over, but make sure to tune in JUNE 1 for exciting news! ♥
