An eventful day for soccer media
First, the TV transmission of the Germany-Turkey Euro semifinal goes dark for unexplained reasons. Many, myself included, initially (and, it should be pointed out, falsely) blamed ESPN2 for the blackout. It wouldn't have been the first time the folks in Bristol messed up big time with soccer coverage. But ESPN had nothing to do with it. There were no TV pictures anywhere! To make matters even more

      An eventful saturday night!!
So it’s been almost a week since the last update! Work has been pretty standard, apart from my dad coming in for a meeting, to try and create/modify MarqueeBase into a Version 2. It seems some of the ideas Maddsy was throwing into the pot, that he’d like to see included will make [...]

      Eventful Day at the Races
Wow - I am knackered! What a day… we had to call out 4 ambulances and an air ambulance. I was picked up at 9:45am and we somehow ended up on the M5. Which made us really late… finally getting there at 12am, just in time for the first race. We were put on our [...]

      An Eventful Night Out
As my regular readers know, I run as part of Team in Training, where we raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So last night, I had a fund raiser at Vesta, Vesta a bar/lounge with a generous owner and fantastic staff. They gave us half-priced drinks, owners and staff donated, and everyone raved about how nice they were. Thanks to everyone who came out!! If you weren't able to come, you can still donate!Time to talk about food: We started with some food at Vesta. They got it from Home on Eighth Home on Eightha Chinese place across the street. There was some sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and chicken wings. All average take-out food. After the event wrapped up, Xiu, Andy, and I wanted Dinner while Winnie and Sara went straight to more drinking at 40/40 Club 40/40 Club. We passed by Hill Country, Hill Country a fairly new BBQ place. It was packed pretty late in the evening so we were enticed to try it. We asked how long it would take to seat and the hoste

      Eventful Few Days...
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Today was a lot more sensible and more like it with 6% gained but the two previous days were losses. Wednesday saw a 5% loss and Thursday was similar with 6% lost. I've only myself to blame for yesterday's loss as I rushed my selections and certainly didn't have an uninterupted planning to the day's racing. However, I made fully sure I was on the ball today and I was extremely happy with my selections and the results. Hamilton was a no go area as the cards were pretty much 5.0 the field except one race where I couldn't work an angle. It's learning to become patient and only select the very best of lays which is a tough learning curve.I went to my usual karting session this evening and it was certainly a dramatic evening. A young lad blacked out and crashed into a pole in the pit lane and swallowed his tongue and stopped breathing several times. An air ambulance was called in and I'm yet to hear on his status, it was very bizarre seeing it al

      Eventful
It's been a pretty eventful couple of days really with the racing, Friday was a good day but a battle. I eventually got to 4.5% up and decided that was more than enough for a tough day and was actually pretty pleased in the end. I was going nicely until Champagne Shadow won which put me 3% down but I fought back well. What was slightly annoying was the fact he traded at over 20's IR and I didn't reduce any of my liability when I've mentioned before about doing so. Sometimes greed can overcomes me and I make a few errors like not reducing my liability but thankfully on the day overall it didn't harm me but it's definitely something I'll keep in mind on future days. It was also a hard lay to swallow as I had it down as my best lay of the day, I just couldn't see it beating several rivals on those terms but I've seen it before, when it looks too good it generally is.I went out last night and got absolutely wrecked and I've felt like death the whole day but thankfully I felt a li

The Hultsfred Report: Day One What an eventful p...
The Hultsfred Report: Day One What an eventful past few days it’s been! Hultsfred was a blast… so much so that it’s going to take me the rest of the week to describe it in full. Luckily it only rained one day out of the three, though Swedish nights are very cold (I seem to forget this, though, every time I go to Sweden).Today starts my round-up of the acts that I saw at the festival. And, because I’m such a fan of reviews, I’ve rated each on a scale of one to five Å ’s, just because I like that particular Swedish character (and it’s fun to pronounce!). Maia HirasawaThe first act of the first day, I went into this only knowing her two singles (And I Found This Boy and Gothenburg), but loving what I had heard so far. Maia was absolutely adorable, and her small but extremely talented back-up band gave the music great character, with brass, string, and even whistle sections. All in all, a lot of Hirasawa’s stuff is a bit down tempo for me, but I was quite impressed with he

      An Eventful Draw
Ten-man Mohammedan were held by Muktijoddha to a 1-1 draw in yesterday's action-packed B. League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.Even playing with one man down for the last 15 minutes following Nigerian striker Emeka's send-off decision, the black and whites dominated the show and should consider themselves unfortunate not to leave the ground with maximum points. The Dhaka derby, which began after a drizzle, was contrasting to the drab first leg match that Muktijoddha won 1-0. And they looked like heading for a similar course when Moroccan midfielder Brahim put the Reds ahead after 13 minutes against run of play.Mohammedan secured one valuable point when Nigerian midfielder Divine slotted a late equaliser from a rebound on Emeka's freekick. After 12 matches, both Mohammedan and Muktijoddha came level with Abahani on 22 points but the latter have a match in hand.On a slippery pitch, defensive error almost cost Muktijoddha the lead in the fifth minute when Enamul found open sp

Eventful summer in store for Woods (AP)

Milestone after Milestone- an eventful day!
Milestone after milestone. Hope can't wave, but we've been working on it. Her speech is also delayed a bit, but we work on it daily.... Last night she looked at the dog and said, in her baby mush mouth, HI PUPPY and held her hand up (like in a 'talk to the hand' type pose) to the dog!!!!!! Then she said HI SISSY, HI KITTY HI HI HI HI HI HI HI. LOL!!!!! The sissy comes out sissss and the kitty is kisssssy with a tongue roll in each of those. Then she thought she was just hysterical and laughed at herself.

Eventful day in the life of Me!
Well, it was an evening. The past two days, I've had a killer cough (as rob can tell you. he's now deaf because of me) but the second day (today) was worse! I was sort of ok driving out to my mum's. Usual bullshit...runny nose and sneezing (from hayfever) but while eating dinner with my mum, I had a coughing fit, which normally would be funny to my mum (she seems to like laughing at my little misfortunes right now) but I near enough turned purple. I managed to calm that down but all the way home, I could feel pain in my throat...So I get home, turn the computer on, get a drink and pick a dvd to watch. Then awhile later, I start to cough again and this time, I cant stop for ages. When I finally do, I cant breath right at all. So I called the NHS 24 helpine we have here in the UK. Spoke to really nice nurse who told me to get up to G Docs, which is an out of hours GP. to cut the journey up there short....I get there and the doc takes one look at me and decides I need to be admitted in
