I could sit there all day, nursing a cup of tea or a glass of Lorraine Valley Pinot Gris, and watch that river flow North to Portland.
Max, aka Maximum Chaos, leads our walk through Alton Baker Park in downtown Eugene. What I love about Eugene, and the list has numerous items, is that 80% of the city is dedicated to parks and natural forest. Citizens are motivated by the cities beauty to continue to strive for being as eco friendly and "green" as possible.

Thursday Morning, Andrea and I will pack our bags and hop into the Mini for a weekend getaway! Much deserved for Andrea, and much desired by me. Eugene is my home away from home. I just got my copy of A Long Obedience in the Same Direction, by Eugene Peterson. It happens to be the September selection for the Third Day Book Club. Eugene deserves major commendation for this project. With his new Lakbayan website, you can now plot out just how much of the Philippines you’ve covered throughout your travels. The system marks me as a C- traveler. The places in dark blue correspond to the places one has lived in or is currently residing in. The lighter the shade, the less times one has been to that particular area. Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska is expected to announce Monday if he's running for President or not...my guess is, he is.Hagel is among the sharpest Republican critics of the Iraq war and supports many of the Democrats' proposals to withdraw troops and end the war.Hagel has been compared to Senator Eugene McCarthy (D-Minnesota), who led opposition to the Vietnam War during Lyndon Johnson's presidency. McCarthy was one of the first major Democrats to oppose Vietnam and ran against fellow Minnesotan Hubert Humphrey for the 1968 Democratic Presidential Nomination, before losing his anti-war monopoly to New York Senator Bobby Kennedy.Hagel is pretty much alone in his staunch anti-war position in the Senate. Although there are other Republicans, such as Gordon Smith of Oregon and Olympia Snowe of Maine, who are becoming frustrated and have lost faith in the Iraq policy, they aren't planning on running for President. Tranny is gone. I'm SO hating life right now. I just got done eating Chef Boyardee out of the can, standing in the dark in the pantry. Then the bell rings. I'm figuring it's Jimmy, or Amy or SOMEONE. I would even settle for Freakshow Joe at this point. I'm lonely, what can I say.So, I opened the door and it's Tranny's cousin, Eugene. Now, I only know Eugene from pictures and Tranny's "family flatulence" stories. Eugene hugs me like he's known me for years..picked me off the ground and everything. Eugene smells like a delicate combination of onions and Old Spice. Eugene just went out the the truck to get the rest of his stuff. I took a picture of Eugene with my camera phone while he was out there. I promptly sent it to Tranny's phone. And I'm going to leave it up to you if you want to see
