I just found out about a service that removes and recycles junk vehicles for FREE in an environmentally friendly way.  It is called Northwest Auto Recyclers.  Their web address is www.NWAutoRecyclers.com.  Apparently they will pick up your wrecked vehicle from your home or from the tow-truck yard; drain and dispose of all the fluids, remove and recycle the battery, tires, etc. and will then have the car crushed and the scrap metal recycled.  Clients often ask me about what to do with their wrecked vehicle.  This sounds like a great service.

Today I saw on the news a guy had decked out his house to be essentially covered in Christmas lights. His house was incredibly bright at night. The focus of the story was how the traffic nearby was affected by it, and whether or not that made traffic cops necessary. It’s disappointing that the iPhone, which Apple pitches as the innovative and intuitive “revolutionary device” of tomorrow, is actually one of the least environmentally-friendly handsets on the mobile phone market. While reading the blog for Bella’s Cookies, a vegan and organic all-natural cookie shop, i learned of the Green Restaurant Association. (to read my piece on Bella’s Cookies click here) The GRA is not new, it was established in 1990 and its aim is to create a venue for new or existing restaurants to learn how to incorporate more eco-friendly ways of doing business. The environmental organization is a national non-profit and focuses on helping restaurateurs with: research, environmental consulting, education, publicity, marketing, community organizing and consumer activism. They also publish the green restaurant guide, which lists certified green restaurants. As of this writing, there were 129 dining spots listed. Inventors have been in the media recently and getting their just due, as many pioneer away with their unique ideas and creations for years and years. Many of these inventors are putting their focus on products that are environmentally focused.
