Now that global warming can cause anything from blizzards to desert heat, the environmentalists have taken it upon themselves to declare the midwest floods on global warming, but they fail miserably. I remember the flood of 1993 when the Mississippi River overflowed its banks. 1993 had a period of cooling because of the eruption of [...]

Environmentalists in Illinois have pushed a plan for a new refinery back to the drawing board. It seems the refinery will be performing “flaring”, a process by which excess waste in the plant is burned off and carbon dioxide is released. While the state of Illinois doesn’t have a particular emissions standard for flaring, environmentalists [...]

A very well written article on America’s domestic energy policy and why it fails to provide us with cheap and dependable energy. This article from FromTheDuke.Blogspot.com points out the hypocrisy of the environmentalist movement from unnecessarily rallying to ban DDT to using scare tactics to forgo the development of nuclear plants to global warming, which is causing food prices to soar and people to riot over food. Reports of the death of the 4×4 have been greatly exaggerated. Despite swingeing tax rises and an orchestrated campaign by the green lobby, the latest figures show that the vehicles once dubbed “planet killers” are more popular than ever.
The findings will come as a shock to the government and environmentalists who had hoped that a raft of new legislation would curb sales of large, fuel hungry 4×4s. Instead, car makers are reporting an extraordinary boom in 4×4 sales in both the new and used car market over the past year. The first three months of 2008 have seen a rise in sales, despite the credit crunch and a wave of belt-tightening in other sectors of the car market.

Every time a new coal-fired power plant is proposed anywhere in the United States, a lawyer from the Sierra Club or an allied environmental group is assigned to stop it, by any bureaucratic or legal means necessary.
They might frame the battle as a matter of zoning or water use, but the larger war is over global warming: Coal puts twice as much temperature-raising carbon
From: Exclusive: Cops and Former Secret Service Agents Ran Black Ops on Green Groups A private security company organized and managed by former Secret Service officers spied on Greenpeace and other environmental organizations from the late 1990s through at least 2000, pilfering documents from trash bins, attempting to plant undercover operatives within groups, casing offices, collecting phone records of activists, and penetrating confidential meetings. According to company documents provided to Mother Jones by a former investor in the firm, this security outfit collected confidential internal records—donor lists, detailed financial statements, the Social Security numbers of staff members, strategy memos—from these organizations and produced intelligence reports for pu

Whatever one believes about the building of a border fence across Mexico, one must step back in pure amazement of the environmentalists' purported arguments against it. Other than thwarting just about all progress and economic security across the World, the environmentalists are now attacking our National Security and sovereignty. California traditionally has the toughest emission standards in the United States. In fact, it has a more stringent fuel economy standard than the Environmental Protection Agency. But last year, the state was forbidden by the EPA to implement its own emission standards.Of course, this decision by the federal agency was met with much criticism from environmentalists. Thus, five large environmental groups have filed a petition against the decision of the EPA. The Conservation Law Foundation, Environmental Defense, International Center for Technology Assessment, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Sierra Club according to The Auto Channel filed their petition in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.Jim Tripp, general counsel of Env
The EPA has been a staunch ally of environmentalists for years. Both sides are looking forward to a greener future. With the increasing there of global warming, the Congress passed a legislation which decreed that automakers should manufacture vehicles with better fuel economy. That means greenhouse gas production will be cut substantially. Environmentalists and automakers like Chrysler and Toyota have praised the Congress for passing the law. But the Environmental Protection Agency shocked environmentalists when it denied California ands 17 other states the right to follow the new regulations regarding the fight against global warming. Jim Trip, general counsel for Environmental Defense said: "EPA is not following science or the law." Fred Krupp, the president of Environment

I am tired of the continued mantra that liberals spout every twenty years. These idiots make the objectively absurd argument that there is overpopulation, and we are running out of natural resources. Then when technology increases, and America produces so much food that it actually exports it, they tell us to wait another twenty years for their baseless predictions to come to fruition. Never...

Bill Richardson showed lots of promise earlier in the campaign but a series of gaffes has prevented his campaign from gaining any traction. This week Richardson angered voters in the great lakes region by suggesting that the water be diverted to the southwest:
Michigan environmental activists Thursday accused New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson of suggesting that northern states — including the Great Lakes region — share water with the Sun Belt.
“Richardson’s assault is the latest in a lengthy list of schemes to siphon Great Lakes water to other areas of the nation and the world,'’ said five groups, including the Michigan Environmental Council and the state chapter of the Sierra Club, in a written statement.
A spokesman for Richardson, a Democratic presidential hopeful, said if elected he would “embrace a national water policy that will specifically help protect the authority of states and the rights of local communities throughout the country.'’
Many of today’s environmentalists are concerned about the state of our planet and if it might be too late to fix things. Apparently the problem we face is that the greatest threat to our planet is mankind itself, and with our depraved nature there is little hope for the future.
The general consensus among this group is that early in the Earth’s history the world was pretty much perfect. Man even knew how to live harmoniously with all of nature. This changed when man’s arrogance, pride and selfish tendencies began to exact their toll on the natural balance. War, famine, pollution, poverty as well as natural disasters became the norm. Now the Earth is worse than it has ever been and apocalypse looms on the horizon. The extinction of humanity may be inevitable and in fact a good thing for the rest of the world.
Many of today’s Christians are concerned about the fate of the Earth and don’t believe that there is any chance of saving it. The

I was meant to be an environmentalist. How do I know this? Because I use to watch the now defunct, Captain Planet, religiously when growing up. The United Nations recently claimed that rising food prices has hindered it from fighting famine in Africa and other regions around the world. It simply can no longer afford it as a result of environmentalists pushing biofuel and ethanol. One of the United Nations’ bureaucratic heads was quoted saying, “In a world where our contributions are holding fairly steady, this [cost of grain] means we are able to reach far less people.” This was so predictable it is astounding. But, I guess liberals will keep trying to push their big government policies and killing people as usual. On paper you clearly did not need Nostradamus to tell you this plan would lead to disaster. First, the environmentalists encourage people in growing populations to use their food supply as fuel, thereby reducing the supply. People still need to eat, so the price rises. When poor people cannot afford the food they starve. Then add to this brilliant plan a massive bureaucratic nightmare known as the United

A Singapore-based company was involved in slashing and burning Indonesian forests to make way for palm oil plantations that feed the growing market for biofuels, environmental and activist groups claimed Tuesday. The company emphatically denied the allegations. The Dutch arm of Friends of the Earth and Indonesian rights group Lembaga Gemawan published a 100-page report they said details evidence that subsidiaries of Wilmar International Ltd. dodged environmental rules to plant palm trees in West Kalimantan. But a Wilmar spokeswoman called the accusations ''erroneous, misleading and defamatory.'' ''As a responsible corporate citizen, the Wilmar Group is fully committed to sustainable palm oil,'' Carolyn Lim Wan Yu wrote in an e-mailed reaction. Past studies by environmental groups have - without naming names - found that developers in Malaysia and Indonesia burned vast tracts of rain forest to grow palm oil. The fires u
2000 people, many who lost their homes in Sierra Nevada gathered at a meeting to voice their displeasure. Who were they mad at? Environmentalists. It seems trees are more important to them than people’s lives. (more…)

What if Stephen Harper was right about the very usefulness of these people's sacred cow? Now, this is the inconvenient truth: respecting the Kyoto Protocol by the book won't be of any help to Canada. The Kyoto Protocol's weakness lies in its denial of any given country's own domestic particularities. From ABC News:A Group of 11 Militant Environmentalists Could Be Sentenced as Terrorists Without Having Killed a SoulBy RUSSELL GOLDMAN The FBI has called them "the No. 1 domestic terrorism threat," and their members include four of the Bureau's 11 Most Wanted homegrown terrorists. Yet in more than 1,100 acts of arson and vandalism, the members of the Earth Liberation Front have never killed a single person. Defining terrorism has always been tricky, and in trying to do so, the federal government has acknowledged that there is "no single universally accepted definition of terrorism." But just as when it comes to identifying pornography, lawyers and law enforcement officers have traditionally relied on an ability to know it when they see it. The government saw it 16 months ago when federal agents arrested 10 members of the loose-knit activist group and an affiliate organization, the Animal Liberation Front, in an action called Operation Backfire. At the time of their arrest, Attorne

Environmentalists rank below socialists in my mind. They use the government to destroy human rights, they value animal and plant life above human life and they stink of their vegan diets. Yeah, I’m making broad, unfair generalizations but the main commonality that all environmentalists share is laziness. They would rather bitch to the government (who then passes laws to coerce business owners to be “green”, or worse: lose their land rights) than get up off their asses, make a living and save the environment by a means that doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights.
Until the day that a majority of environmentalists stop using government coercion and start earning to own, I will see them as nothing more than the stinking animals they so desire to be. Federal reserved land is a regressive, anti-man attitude.
Stinky Hippy: But what about the beautiful national parks man? The man will pave over them and put up a HELL Mart right next to Half Dome!

There are basically three kinds of environmentalists:
Type 1. The most avid environmentalists I have ever met are not Sierra Club employees or people in the middle of protests, they are sportsmen and sportswomen who appreciate the environment because cultivating a clean environment means they can continue to enjoy it. They basically pick up after themselves and leave things the way they found them. This is the great majority of people who spend time in the outdoors but you don't find them in magazine articles or on TV.
Type 2 are the political activists. They seem to care about the environment as a platform for lots of other political issues. The environment is part of a much larger agenda they have. They camp out in trees and prevent responsible logging from occurring which leads to out-of-control wildfires, or they file lawsuits about levee improvements in Louisiana until a hurricane comes through and they get to pretend the fault lies with some politicians in Washington,

Environmentalists applauded Richard Branson's generous contribution to the global warming issue. I usually let them go because they are basically harmless and the people who make those rubbery clogs have to feed their families too. But I have to take a stand here.Branson's Virgin Group does $8 billion in revenues per year, the bulk of that from fuel-guzzling transportation divisions.
