England has announced there 13 member squad on Sunday for the first test match against India starting from 19th of July. They have included pace bowler Stuart Broad in the 13 member squad after his brilliant show against Indians in the practice match that was played against India and England Lions. ECB has announced new Captain Name “Paul Collingwood” to lead the England in ODI against West Indies starting from July 1 2007. After the dismissal performance in the World Cup 2007 Michael Vaughan has stepped out from the Role of ODI Captain. The ODI ranking of England is 7th just above West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Paul Collingwood has scored 276 and taken six wickets in the World cup 2007 where England has not able to put the good show. With his alrounder ability, both with the bat and bowl he has able to impress England cricket Board and given the chance to lead the England ODI team against the upcoming ODI against West Indies starting from 1st July 2007. Initially Kevin Pieterson the number one player according to ICC Ranking has refused to lead the England team.
After the resignation of coach Duncan Fletcher, England Cricket Board has appointed Peter Moores as the new coach of England cricket team.
Moores is presently the Director of the National cricket academy in England and will start his tenure from May 1 with his first assignment being the test series against visiting West Indies.
