A fine evening's entertaiment yesterday. I shall have to write about the Tiger Tiger part separately though. We decided to see the recent adaptation of 'Brief Encounter' which is running in the Cinema in the Haymarket, which is being used as a theatre for this show.Its one of those immersive events. You walk into the foyer of a 1930's cinema, with uniformed usherettes and tea and cucumbers being served amongst the popcorn. The whole production is a delight, the actors move around in the audience, there's black and white film inserts shown, a superb ensemble band and a kind of relaxed excellence about the whole production. I was driving home the other day from Cesky Krumlov via the route that skirts the castle gardens. It was about midnight and the skies were cloudy, so the road was very dark. Then in the lights of my car he appeared - a huge wild boar. He ambled across the road and along the road side before turning into the bushes.Wild boars are common around here. You will also find signs of them in the woods, such as scuffed-up ground where they seek for food. They are a favourite prey for the local huntsmen. As I think I have said before we found two boar skins in the barn when we bought our house. Wild boar stew is a common dish in the local restaurants. This chap was totally unfazed and rightly unworried by my intrusion into his nightly foraging. We passed in the night and continued on our way.

As I said yesterday, our fall retreat was incredible.A lot went into this retreat. When we were first deciding on doing it, we had set it for a different weekend... only to find out that there were 3 high school homecomings that weekend... so we re-scheduled it to this last weekend: October 26-28.The whole weekend blew me away.The biggest part that blew me away was my student's hunger for God.They were hungry to encounter Him.We had 3 services throughout the weekend with our first service being the most intense. What blew me away were the students that lingered, continuing to seek God after everyone was dismissed. Those moments are precious.We stressed throughout the weekend how it is important to have experiencial encounters with God... but how it is also important to not just hang on to the experience/feeling... we have to be consistent in seeking Him... and when there is an experience that we allow Him to change us.All of us had experiences this weekend we will never forget.We had
