I spend the morning at a house of a friend who bought a new computer and wanted some of his data transfered from this old computer to the new computer. The old computer was running Windows XP and Outlook Express, the new one was a shiny new Acer Desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Mail. Among the data that he wanted to transfer from his old PC to the new one were the emails that he send and received throughout the time he was using the old computer. So i started by burning all relevant files to a DVD. The relevant files were all the Outlook .dbx files that I was able to find in Documents & Settings. To be precise the correct path is \Local Settings\Application Data\Identities… It’s a hidden folder so make sure that one is revealed to you. My thoughts

I often cringe when I see an email whereby all the email addresses are in the To and CC list. This is because when the email is traveling through the hops and servers, they leave a digital mark that can be culled by robots which are collecting email addresses and that’s when I start receiving spam emails.

The MP3 files have many different names that appear to refer, for example, to a well-known pop star or important information. The problem with this spam method is that users do not yet know about it and therefore react without suspicion. Spam filters are generally ineffective, but above all the size of the mass MP3 mails places a heavy strain on mailboxes, especially those of businesses. So called “stock spam” has already spread in other file formats, for instance, in the form of image files (PDF).
“Any student on any campus in the country who is illegally downloading music may receive one of these letters in the coming months,” said Jenni Engebretsen, an RIAA spokeswoman.

You see a painting/image/sign that you like. You stop and start carving an exact replica for yourself. The original is intact and untouched; you have your own version. Shoplifting is stealing.
