I brought along my friends Aly and Jay. We all thought the film was really funny and did a great job at showing a whole other side of the fashion industry that Project Runway would never touch on. I was delighted to be able to travel to Philadelphia for the World Premiere of Jay McCarroll's documentary "Eleven Minutes." The Scarlett lives in Philly and she and her charming husband graciously hosted my visit. The film was scheduled to start at 9:30 so we had some dinner first and headed to the theater. When we arrived there was a long line of people in front of the venue waiting to get in. YAY! The doors opened and the theater filled up. I checked my phone to discover that I had missed a call... At least 26 people were killed when suspected al Qaeda militants detonated twin car bombs in Algeria's capital, in one of the bloodiest attacks since civil strife in the 1990s. The Yomiuri Shimbun is reporting that eleven laptops were stolen from a Japanese Embassy in Brussels, Belgium.  Japanese expatriates—about 12,700 of them—might be affected.  The information on the laptops included residence certification, overseas voting registrations, and passport information.  The information on residence certification also include personal details such as date of birth, name, permanent address in Japan, occupation, and family information.  Because of the fears expressed regarding personal identity theft, my guess is that there was nothing such as AlertBoot ensuring the safety of the information on the laptops via encryption.   Is it normal for an embassy to have this information?  Actually, it is, and it’s not because they’re playing Big Brother.  Generally speaking, embassies welcome their country’s citizens to register their arrival whenever they step onto foreign soil, although this is rarely followed anymore.  I

Has it really been only eleven days since the beginning of November?  They have been eventful, to say the least. Tomorrow we begin our journey back down to California, to our new home in Sacramento.  I can’t wait to see our house, meet it and move into the corners of it, and fill the fridge with baby carrots.  I kind of want to see my Superstar Husband, too.  (ACK.  I MISS HIM SO MUCH I COULD JUST LAY MY HEAD ON THE TABLE AND MOAN FOR AN HOUR AND THREE QUARTERS.) It has been delightful, though, spending time with my mum and dad.  They put up with me well, their daughter who just happens to come home and wreck their vehicle.  It’s so funny, really, I feel responsible and they feel responsible (because it was their car) but really, as my dad puts it, “You just can’t even go there.”   They are so incredible to me, though, so giving and warm and I have been feeling really safe recuperating here.  Now it is time to go home and behave like a grownup. 

Now I see how tough it is to be a casting director—it sure wasn’t easy to pick which solar stocks would be right for Solar’s Eleven. But maybe this list will be as popular as the movie Ocean 's Eleven so I can cast more characters in the sequel.

RenegadePR, a public relations and photo representation agency based in California, hosted Renegade Photo Shoot 2007: NYC on the streets of Manhattan October 17. This inaugural shoot brought together an eclectic mix of photographers – wedding, fashion, beauty, commercial, sports, environmental and paparazzi – to shoot varied assignments at five locations.
