      Smart Fabrics by Eleksen
Eleksen technology is bringing life to our apparel with their line of “smart fabrics” products. Their smart fabrics can be found in bags, accessories, backpacks, and even on clothing like jackets or suits. So what do these “smart fabrics” products actually do? They allow you to control your favorite electronics gadgets. Eleksen has brought the iPod controls to jacket sleeves and to bags as

Eleksen’s new eSystem™ for the next generation of Interactive Apparel
Eleksen is on the way to set a new standard on how interactive apparel will be made with the launch of the eSystem™ according to a press release from businesswire.com I have first seen samples of the eSystem™ last June during the Avantex in Germany which has the potential to revolutionize the interactive apparel business. This solution offers a high degree of flexibility and lets the consumer decide which personal electronic devices they want to control with their interactive clothing. The different eSystem™ modules are sold separately (see image above) which allows the consumer to select the functionality matching the gadgets they own. Consumers could buy more than one module and, depending on the function needed on certain occasions, plug in the eSystem™ module that fits best the situation. The eSystem™ consist of three new sensors incorporating Eleksen’s new SensorID™ technology, which allow apparel designers to use any of 16 different six-button layouts in their des

Get creative with the Eleksen fabric keyboard Evaluation-Kit
Eleksen launched their Evaluation Kit targeted towards designers, academics, and journalists to get a first-hand experience with ElekTex® technology. The ElekTex evaluation kit is designed to explore the interface design for interactive soft goods products, including consumer and industrial apparel and accessories. The Evaluation Kit enables users to experience and learn how to program smart fabric interfaces using button, scroll and gesture controls. It represents an ideal first step for those looking to develop commercial applications using ElekTex. Eleksen is in control of Wearable Electronic
Our first follow-up review of the great things around Wearable Electronic on stage last week during Avantex is about the newly introduced control modules from Eleksen. There are 5 ‘ready to sell’ functions like: Volume Control (for any audio device with a 3.5mm headphone socket), the Sony Ericsson Controller, the iPod Controller, the iPod+Bluetooth Controller and the new FM Radio module. You may ask: “what’s the big deal about that?” To start with, this modules are good news for garment companies because the ‘only’ thing they have to integrate into future clothing is the ElekTex fabric keypad with the standardized connector to the modules. No risk in making too much or less clothing items with the ‘wrong’ function. The added value = function of the clothing and other accessories is defined by - you, the customer. You choose a Wearable Electronic ready clothing item or bag and buy the control module you need and like. Even better,

Double sided Fabric Keyboard from Eleksen
The Wearable Electronic expert Eleksen did it again ….. surprising the world with a twist to their existing fabric keyboard range: the Double Sided USB Keyboard. This concept, presented by Eleksen during the 3GSM in Barcelona last week has a different set of keys on each side. On the top side is a standard set of QWERTY keys for text entry and whatever work you can do on a ‘normal’ computer keyboard but if you flip the keyboard over, you get the basics of a numeric key-pad, optimized key layout for page navigation and quick access keys for music. The Douple-sided Keyboard is USB powered what let us assume this keyboard can be used with any device (incl. computer) that support USB keyboards. A gravity switch in the plastic control module determines which side is facing up and which key mapping to use. Very smart keyboard control software solution that will act differently depending on side of the keyboard is facing up. Amazing the creativity of Eleksen! As far as we ca
