From the treasures of the Egyptian Radio and Television
The Egyptian Radio and Television got treasures my generation and the previous generation still remember and are proud of knowing them by heart , we are not like the Melody generation. Now the video below is a cartoon made in the 1990s to a Radio Operetta produced I think in the 1950s , yes a very old and beautiful Children Operetta that almost all Egyptians know by their hearts It became a part of our culture , its lyrics and terms are used in our lives , especially in our birthday celebrations. The operetta is about the Birthday of the crown prince of all the forest birds Mr. Abu El-Fasd ,all the birds decided to make a big birthday for the little cute fellow you can see him in the last part of the video , little tiny blue fluffy thing At first there is a part where Uncle Crow , th

      The First Egyptian Cartoon
This is the oldest animation in the history of Egyptian Cinema. Historically the art of animation began in Egypt in 1935 by the Brothers Frankel, who managed despite the limited technical potential to produce many of the business and made the first Cartoon Egyptian Character   Mishmesh Effendi They carried out many cinematic tricks, which were very advanced then, like  the integration movement of living with frees animation. I found this animation through my dear Friend Sherif Naguib who closed his blog unfortunately , but thank God for the Facebook , Sherif found it by his turn in a group called Animation department , the video is owned by Tohamy Mohamed Tohamy. Student 'Twitters' his way out of Egyptian jail: James Karl Buck helped free himself from an Egyptian jail with a one-word blog post from his cell phone. Buck, a graduate student from the University of California-Berkeley, was in Mahalla, Egypt, covering an anti-government protest when he and his translator, Mohammed Maree, were arrested April 10. On his way to the police station, Buck took out his cell phone and sent a message to his friends and contacts using the micro-blogging site Twitter. [photo link]The message only had one word. "Arrested."Within seconds, colleagues in the United States and his blogger-friends in Egypt -- the same ones who had taught him the tool only a week earlier -- were alerted that he was being held. Egyptian Pharaohs
Egyptian Pharaohs were the Ancient Egyptian secular and spiritual leaders of ancient Egypt. Egyptian Gods, Goddesses and Mythology
Isis:Ancient Egyptian society treated men and women equally. Women participated in the political, economic, and judicial world of ancient Egypt on the same terms as men. This social system reflects Egyptian mythology, where Goddesses played an equal, if not chief, role. The primeval mother figures in the earliest prehistoric Egyptian myths are female. Female deities were kept separate from the males, with their own temples and followers. Egyptian goddesses are also creator deities, and the protectors of the pharaohs in the form of the cobra, vulture, or lioness. In ancient Egyptian mythology, Egypt was created from the Watery Waste of Nun, a chaos god from whose body all things were born. If I were to travel to Egypt I would absolutely love to learn more about the heritage of my canine brothers that lived before me.Did you know that the ancient Egyptian word for dog was "iwiw", which referred to the dog's bark. Dogs served a roll in hunting, as guard and police dogs, in military actions and as household pets in ancient Egypt. And these pups are well known from ancient Egyptian paintings, but their breed is still difficult to discern completely. However many pictures show resemblance to basenji, saluki, greyhounds, mastiffs and others.Flights to Egypt should be pretty easy to come by...for me to find out more!

      Monsters in Ancient Egyptian Art
This is an overview of one of the most peculiar natural history conceptions of the ancient Egyptians: the belief in monsters. Mythical marvels first emerge in iconography during predynastic times and can be documented down through the Graeco-Roman Period and beyond. For the residents of the Nile Valley, these extraordinary oddities were judged to be just as real as any other regular living wildlife species, if only more mysterious and dangerous. In fact, these unnatural creations are occasionally executed in art, mingling right along with the standard desert game animals in hunting scenes, especially in the Middle Kingdom tomb-chapels. Lest we should forget, Western made maps of Africa, as recently as just four or five centuries ago, represented the immense interior of the continent as inh

      ART in egyptian civlization
Akhenaten changed thousands of years of art in Egypt. Gone were the images of Amun and the other gods of Egypt, now replaced by Aten, the solar disc. When Akhenaten built his monuments with images of the Pharaoh, he moved away from the traditions of a strong, handsome muscular Pharaoh. Images of Pharaohs with idealized bodies were gone. The Pharaoh was shown as misshapen as was his wife Nefertiti. It became fashionable to show images of the entire royal family with elongated heads, faces, fingers, toes, wide hips, This gave the artists of Amarna new freedom to show scenes of the real life of the Pharaoh, something that had never been done before. The temple was covered with scenes of the Aten, the sun disc with its rays shining down, ending in hands holding ankhs, the hieroglyph for life.

Our hero already had an infamous reputation in Egypt every body knows about ,this is just a new chapter in his book of scandals which prove that he did not deserve the position nor the respect that he was given and it makes me wonder about how valid his decisions in his very critical position in very critical time "late 1970s and early 1980s" were. I expect that this will be the new 2008 Press talk for the next couple of weeks , already our hero was a hot meal for them in mid 1990s with scandals . Before I will start our little X-file which is not a real X-file or enigma but more it will ask X-Questions I doubt that I will find answers for them any sooner ,I must clari

Let me just do a short summary of this Egyptian Adventure of ours and then I'll quit bothering you with it. Most of things were already included in that sum. We only spent additional 150 Euros on food, drinks and a few gifts for folks back

Nile River Cruise - Cruising Egyptian style
In my non-stop quest to make Viator the one-stop source of information for travel to Egypt… My husband and I are not what we would call ‘cruise’ people. We have never done an extended cruise and have never been inclined to do so. When planning our trip to Egypt it became apparent early on that unless we were prepared to endure hours of car travel on bumpy, deserted roads with no speed limits - that would be NO - our best option for seeing the curiously named Upper Egypt, is by boat. I say curiously named because when you look at a map of Egypt, Upper Egypt (Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, etc) appears to the South of Lower Egypt (Cairo, Alexandria, etc). I equate North with up and South with down, maybe it’s just me. In this case Upper refers to height with Upper Egypt further above sea level than Lower Egypt…it took me a while to grasp this concept! Anyway, getting back on track, we decided to do the 8 Day Nile River Cruise on the lovely M/Y Mirage (M/Y bein

stop the discrimination against the Egyptian Christians, the Copts | a reminder from Prophet Muhammad's charter of privileges to Christians
Few days back i received an email from the Arab Writers Group Syndicate calling attention to the discrimination and violation of human rights by the Egyptian officials against the native Egyptian Christian community, also known as the Copts. Its totally unacceptable and also against the ethics of Islam. It must be noted that this problem is from corrupted political system, degradation of moral ethics and human value which we find so often in our troubled time.. Egyptian Christians: Strangers in their Native Land! The Copts, Egypt’s indigenous, pre-Arab, pre-Islamic Christians, are a native ethno-religious group of Egypt. Egyptian Christians trace their ancestry to the indigenous Pharaonic-era population of Egypt, converted to Christianity by St. Mark, one of Christ’s earliest disciples. Today Copts number approximately seven to twelve million people and constitute between 10% and 15% of the Egyptian population, making them the largest indigenous Christian community in both Africa a

      Egyptian locusts
I have already mentioned the locust harassment that occurred close to a desert well (check the previous post for details). As you can see there were two different kinds of locusts posing for me. I

      Ancient Egyptian Jewelry-Photos
The Egyptians wore regular clothes but always wore elaborate jewelry. The personal jewelry was worn for ornamention and to show how wealthy the person was. Some of the jewelry included earrings, bracelets, anklets, rings, and beaded necklaces. The gems the Egyptians put in the jewelry were garnet, onyx, turquoise, amethyst, and lapis lazuli. They also added copper, gold, and shells. Egyptians also wore necklaces of colorful beads and amulets. They thought that wearing jewelry brought good luck. Jewelry was extremely popular throughout the history of the Egyptian nation. Excavations of tombs have shown that queens of Egypt were almost always buried with a multitude of jewelry to be used in the afterlife. The amount of jewelry worn by an individual often indicated their social position and level of wealth. Jeweled collars, such as the one depicted on the Nefertiti costume of the statue uncovered and now on display in Berlin, were very popular and usually made of

The Art of Ancient Egyptian Artifacts
The Ancient Egyptian arts were art forms that existed in Egypt five thousand years ago. The Egyptian civilization existed in he area of the Nile River Valley. Ancient Egyptian art was very symbolic and quite complex in symbolism and design. The main types of art from this Egyptian era were paintings and scultures.Gods, goddesses and pharaohs were key elements of Ancient Egyptian art, as ancient Egyptians were a highly religious people. Ancient Egyptian art is characterized by a strict adherence to a set of rules about representation of three dimensional form and order is exemplified over cosmetic or stylized representations.Besides artistic order, Ancient Egyptian art served to organize political and religious order as well. This sense of order was also applied to social status and was reflected in the art of Ancient Egypt. For example, figures of higher social status were depicted with larger figures. Artists of Ancient Egypt did not paint sizes of figures according to the distance fr

Does Religious Law Permit Visiting Egyptian Pyramids?
Pyramids are graves of polytheists, and a Muslim is permitted to visit them for the sake of a moral lesson (pertaining to death and the world to come) based on the Prophet's words in the hadith: "Visit tombs, for they remind you of the world to come". Other religious authorities, however, have prohibited visiting the pyramids because they are tombs of infidels. In May 2004, Sheikh Maher Al-Qahtani, which specializes in the traditions of the Prophet, posted a fatwa that forbids visiting Egyptian pyramids on the grounds that they enclose the graves of infidels. "It is forbidden to enter the homes [of infidels] or the ruins of the homes in which they used to dwell, and it is forbidden to visit them if it is known that infidel tyrants [dwelt there]. If a [Muslim] visitor must pass by [such places], he must do so in haste - according to what has been transmitted to us by Bukhari and Muslim through Ibn 'Omar - for when the Prophet passed by the stones [ruins of structures], he said: 'Do no
