I'm a huge fan of Ryan Adams' work. I realize now why that is... His label took some of his creative freedoms away. The album is an impeccable mish-mash off all Ryan's music genres: he dances from rock; "Halloweenhead," to country twang; "Pearls on a String," to vocal-strengthened guitar tracks; "Two" (which features Sheryl Crow), on to blues-influenced Grateful Dead-homage music, "Goodnight Rose." Ryan Adams is the sole name on the CD. His country-rock specializing backing band, The Cardinals, are not credited here. I was unsure of the motives - but based on an interview I read in the new Uncut magazine (July 2007)..."It's not the record I wanted to make," Ryan says, unprovoked. "Not at all." Adams wanted, he says, to make an album that was more about his backing band, The Cardinals.

Oh God, you know how i hate name similarities such as Bryan Adams and Ryan Adams. And also if i see many influences lists on artists' myspace page like influenced by: The Beatles, Scott Walker, The Stone Roses... And the result is a simple music without any connection to these references. Of course i'm not against to Ryan Adams' upcoming Easy Tiger, because he doesn't have any artists to trick [[ This is a content summary only. The new album - June 26The new album is coming and from what I have heard so far, it threatens to be really, really good. Ryan is still standing one foot firmly in country, but seems to have focused on some of the clean vocalizations and production styles he has used in the past. He also isn't producing three albums at a whack, as he did in 2005. Each track off the 13-song Easy Tiger will have every opportunity to shine. We are big Ryan Adams fans here at ENS, even when he does some of the crazy things he is notorious for doing. But these first two samples from his upcoming album, Easy Tiger, are well, just beautiful. Although you won’t notice unless you listen real close, Sheryl Crow is providing backing vocals on the song Two, (of which we are still waiting for the Rob Base mashup).
