The earlier how-to’s I had posted describe how you can downgrade your ver 1.1.1 iPhone to ver 1.0.2, and then unlock it.
Now I will describe how you can unlock a ver 1.1.1 iPhone as is. That means you need not downgrade to 1.0.2, and your phone’s firmware must be in virgin state (meaning, if you have a 1.0.2 phone and would like to upgrade and subsequently unlock it at 1.1.1, you will have to revirginize the baseband before attempting this).
