Not all school welcome us, as we not involve in teaching at classroom. But some school (from my friends feedback)really appreciate us and know why we have to come to their school. Its okay with me as long as we can get along with the teachers, even sometimes..yes with a fake smile. My partner and I had been given a Methodist primary school. This school achieve 90% and above in UPSR, every year. A s
As a midwife I was supposed to know it all, but your body and emotions change, and pregnancy is a different experience for everyone. It is a time where you can predict nothing, and the outcome is unknown.
For a first time mother there are special delights and difficulties because of the unknown, and always [...]

I was recently quite upset to read about a Plastic Soup twice the size of the US floating in the Pacific Ocean. This vast expanse of debris is held in place by swirling underwater currents and stretches from 500 nautical miles off the Californian coast, across the northern Pacific, past Hawaii and almost too Japan. It is believed that there is about 100 million tons of trash in the region. However, I was inspired by one British woman who is now saying no to plastic packaging. So I've decided to copy her. I am going to see how long I can go without buying anything packaged in a non-recyclable or non-biodegradable container. This promises to be more difficult that you might think. I am astounded by the amount of packaging UK shops use. Lettuces and cucumbers come in their own plastic bags, as
Joy - 3 points, but it must be said only after 84 minutes of painful; "oh shite it's last year all over again" running over and over in my head. Now though it’s a sunny California afternoon and I’ve been thinking about the games I’ve just witnessed and thought I’d put some thoughts up on the site.
It's been a greedy football weekend in the Château due Grimbo with the wife relegated to the bedroom TV and myself well and truly glued to the screen after such a LONG time without Footy. Thusly the viewing shenanigans that screwed many of you over back there in Blighty, totally played in my favour with Fox Soccer Channel (yes I hate the word, but it’s what the channel is called) playing the Arse game here when originally they were not…….albeit it must be said at 4am (yawn) - and what a game – boring it was not. But first onto others.
I watched the Hammers vs. Citeh game first on Saturday and followed
Working as a wardsman before I started nursing gave me a good insight into what I would have to experience during my 3 years of training. I was lucky in the beginning as I had a mentor that showed me around the wards. He was a giant of a man, a good teacher and always remained calm during stressful times. Especially whilst working in accident and emergency. This is where, in the first time of my life, I observed the pain and suffering of others like nothing I had seen before. The sight and smell of blood, urine, alcohol, maggots, faeces, vomit, sweat, people in pain with horrific injuries, people sitting calmly with their problems, people carrying on like pork chops, it was overwhelming. The hospital wards were a bit like this, but not to the extent of accident and emergency. My mentor and other hospital staff took it in their stride. No panic, just their usual good humor and tolerance of all good things and bad! For me, my mentor had to sit me down on one of my early visits. Why? Ever

In the early 1980’s I was a young divorced mother of one. Mum’s would chat and drink coffee, whilst small children played. We would speculate about our children’s future. That one would follow in the family tradition and be a lawyer, that one a doctor, this one and that one, and on they would go. When it came to my turn, I would always said the same thing, “as long as she’s happy, healthy and normal, I really couldn’t give a fig.” They would giggle and tease, ‘surely I must have some higher ambition for my child?’ As far as I was concerned, with all the ‘new’ dangers that young people were experiencing at that time, it seemed a very lofty ambition. These days, with all the ‘new’ dangers that young people are experiencing today, such an ambition seems to be the pinnacle of achievement, although I’ve altered the motto to ‘healthy and happy.’ The healthy, I can manage as best I may, subject to the vagueries of the plague and other epidemics. The 'ha
I consider myself to be a logical and efficient person. All too often I find myself in an odd spot. This spot and it’s oddness, are usually revealed to me by an independent third party, the really logical and efficient one.Like most parents, I adapt my own behaviour to cater for my children’s needs. These behaviour patterns build up over a very long period of time, especially if your children happen to be autistic. What seemed like a jolly good idea at the time, [translation = step in the right direction] can end up being a straight jacket. [translation = the need for sameness, routine and predictability]I open the door to my chum in my dressing gown. [translation = good friend and robe] My pal visits for coffee when my three youngest children are at home with me. We are in the family room attempting play, without coffee. [translation = we don’t want any accidents and anyway coffee ‘stinks’]“I want it!” screams Junior.“What do you want dear?”“Dah Bingo gam
That innocent word, 'play' can be huge hurdle for some autistic children. "Scheduling time" is a marathon and many of us, parents that is to say, have a hard time planning out what to do, how and when? What we [parents] refer to when we say 'play' seems simple enough and doesn't need any explanation, but 'play' when it comes to autistic children may not be quite so straightforward. If you looked at my boys when they were little, you would have seen them playing, not just the typical autistic play of lining things up, moving toys in a mechanical and repetitive manner, examining some tiny feature on a toy but behaviour that would 'pass' as typical play. Teasing these elements apart, unless you are very observant or a play therapist, is not that easy for the novice. [translation = me]The key element that experts often refer to is 'lack or impairment of imaginative play.' When I looked at my boys, I would see them pretending to be dinosaurs, or dinosaur eggs. To me that loo
I beetle about late at night and then check the computer for some 'down' time. I come across a "posting"that transports me back in time, back to the good old days when I had them all securely strapped into the double push chair. [translation = buggy]Yes, the day that I could no long pry their huge bodies into that contraption was the last day that I ever visited the post office with them. The whole exercise was just much to dangerous. [translation = to my own sanity]There's something about queuing [translation = lining?] that drives them all too distraction. I would go armed with no end of entertainments, snacks and other bribes to attempt 'containment' during the oh so long minutes within the confines of that den of torture. Why bother? I hear you cry. Well we foreigners are discriminated against. We are not permitted to merely hurl a parcel into the bin. Oh no, perish the thought! Instead we are forced to complete pointless paperwork, declaring on pain of death [transla
To really claim to be passionate about rock ‘n’ roll, I think it is necessary to acknowledge its roots in country, blues, and folk as it was a combination of these styles that would give rise to what was first recognized as rock ‘n’ roll. I also think it is necessary to acknowledge some of the early major rock ‘n’ roll artists and so I compiled a short list of what might be considered the top 5 of the early rockers. Certainly not a definitive list as there are many of rock ‘n’ roll artists that should be appreciated.
I’m not an expert on early rock ‘n’ roll as although I love the genre, I haven’t listened to it nearly as long as other genres like blues and classic rock. Still, each of these artists represents something special to me and I think they should be remembered by all upcoming rock musicians as whether they like it or not, they owe them for starting the rock ‘n’ roll genre and making it so
