Olympus' 10MP EVOLT E-520 DSLR gets reviewedAlthough we were able to take an all-too-brief peek at Olympus' EVOLT E-520 late last month, the results weren't exactly indicative of what this thing is capable of -- you know, considering the unit in question was defective. The cats over at PhotographyBLOG managed to secure a fully functional unit, and results were much, much improved. Although reviewe
The E-520 is a camera that manages to package a significant number of excellent features and solid controls into a great body, but really let itself down in our performance testing. There’s one of the best Live View modes on the market (with auto focus), a good image stabilization system that’s built into the body, comprehensive presets and a high degree of customizability and control. Olympus EVOLT E-410 Review at DCResource, “Behind the mirror is the E-410’s unique LiveMOS image sensor. Its unique design allows for full-time live view on the camera’s LCD display, so those of you used to previewing your shots on your compact camera’s LCD will feel right at home. The old E-330 actually had two sensors: the main LiveMOS sensor and a second, smaller sensor in the viewfinder chamber. The camera offered two live view modes (A and B), with one allowing for autofocus and the other for manual focus. The problem with that concept was that the small sensor really darkened the optical viewfinder, and it’s been done away with on the E-410. So, you get a brighter viewfinder and get to keep your live view, since the LiveMOS now does all the work. ”

Camera Olympus EVolt E-500Entry-level SLR digital camera brings 8 megapixels and a 2.5-inch LCD to the fray. The E-500 has a much more traditional design than the E-300, which is a good thing in my opinion, as I was not a fan of the body design of the E-300. (Olympus did tell me that the E-300 design isn't dead yet.) In addition to the new look, there are these other new features on the E-500 when compared to the E-300:Larger LCD display (2.5" versus 1.8") New noise reduction system which promises less noise than the E-300 Dual memory card slots (adds xD slot in addition to CompactFlash) Auto pop-up flash (the flash on the E-300 was released manually) More shooting and metering options New digital filters (color and black and white) New advanced histogram display in playback mode Other features on the E-500 include an 8 Megapixel CCD, dust reduction system, full manual controls, hot shoe, and the kind of performance you'd expect from a digital SLR.Camera digital olympus reviewCamera O

DPReview has reviewed the Olympus E-410 EVOLT digital SLR. The Olympus E-410 EVOLT features a 10 Megapixel 4/3 type Live MOS sensor, TruePic III image processor, ISO rating up to 1600. The E-410 supports the Live View which allows you to preview the image with the 2.5-inch LCD display. The Olympus E-410 EVOLT supports both CompactFlash(Type I/II) and xD cards. Conclusion from DPReview:After using the E-410 for a couple of months I really grew to like it. The body itself is very light, and - when combined with the plastic-shelled (but otherwise pretty good) 28 - 84 mm equiv. kit lens - makes for a great carry-around digital SLR. We’ve become accustomed to large hand grips, but the E-410’s design works just as well; you just hold it slightly differently (ring and little finger tucked under the body). This slim design looks great but has one trade-off, the size of the battery; the PS-BLS1 may have more specified capacity than those used in the D40X and EOS 400D, but for some reason it j

About a month ago I was in the market for a digital SLR camera. SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex which basically means that when you look through the eye piece you see what the lens sees instead of looking slightly above the lens in a lower cost digital camera. I ended up choosing the Olympus EVOLT E-330 for two reasons. First, a newer model of the device E-410 was going to be released soon so the price was low, around $625 for the camera with two lenses, a 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 lens and 18-180mm f3.5-5.6 Ultra Zoom lens. The second reason is because this is one of the few digital SLR cameras that has the Live View technology allowing you to use the LCD screen to see what you’re about to shoot instead of forcing you to use the eye piece all of the time. The eye piece is great most of the time but if you’re taking a picture at an odd angle or if you’re taking one low to the ground the LCD screen makes all the difference.
The camera so far has been great, the pictures it t
Live Preview is one of the functions I’ve missed on DSLR cameras from the beginning and Olympus had the first camera, E-330, that offers this function. Now Olympus added two now DSLR models with this function, the EVOLT E-410 and E-510.
