The autumn have come to northern Norway and it is giving me some nice colors to photograph. Stay tuned for more autumn photos from Norway in the weeks to follow. The first photo is a macro picture of a plant called dwarf cornel (Cornus suecica), also known as bunchberry. Love the deep red colors the leaves get in the autumn. In the photo you can also see some reindeer lichen growing on the right side. Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera September 8th 2007. Click image for larger view. Wind will carry the seed capsules and if there are lots of fireweed growing it can look like snow. I decided to try a new Nasturtium this year in my garden after my failure with 'Mahogany Velvet' that I purchased from Sean Conway Seeds. I was really looking forward to the 'Mahogany Velvet' blooms last year because they were the closest to black I could find. Unfortunately the plants never bloomed while the 'Jewel Mix' grew like gangbusters.This year I was at Wal-Mart and picked up 'Dwarf Cherry Rose' to give it a try. The pack of seeds was 97 cents which was three times less than what I payed for the 'Mahogany Velvet' seeds last year. The other thing I noticed was that I could pick up the same seeds in the same store under the Ferry-Morse brand for a little more money. That shouldn't come as a surprise to most people but if you turn over the seed packet at the bottom you can see that the seeds sold for 97 cents under the Wal-Mart Gardens brand were manufactured by the Ferry-Morse Seed Co. Pamiętam ten serial sprzed jakichś 10 lat. Pokazywał go wtedy WOT (obecnie to się nazywa TVP 3). Odkryłem go przypadkowo przerzucając różne kanały. Kiedy "wgryzłem się" w akcję od razu zadzowniłem do kumpla, żeby też oglądał. Tak oto "Czerwony karzeł" stał się jednym z moich ulubionych seriali komediowych. Teraz po latach miło się rozczarowałem - okazało się, że moja świadomość rozpoczęła się mniej więcej od połowy sezonu drugiego - wcześniejszych odcinków zupełnie nie kojarzyłem. Been playing (at least trying to figure out what I'm doing) in this incredibly ambitious simulation of a dwarf fortress by Tarn Adams of Bay 12 Games. First read about this unique game in the Jan 2007 issue of PC Gamer Malaysia.You start with a band of seven dwarves to build an outpost. Assign your dwarves tasks and watch over their needs like lodging and food and raw materials to expand your settlement. Create new equipment and weapons to advance your settlement into a real fortress with traps, workshops and fortifications - I sure hope my outpost will reach that stage eventually :)The overall gameplay seems like a very detailed combination of Settlers II's economy and Dungeon Keeper's exploration and expansion. It takes time to get into the game (especially for players not used to rougelikes as the interface entirely keyboard driven) but my opinion is that this game will really pay off for players who put enough time into the game. It was a few years ago that I became interested in the part that asteroids play in an astrological reading. I don’t remember what sparked that interest; I think it was something that I read about Chiron. Since that day I have always included several different asteroids in every chart that I do. There are around 10,000 named asteroids whose positions can be charted. Out of those I always tend to use Chiron, Juno, Vesta, Eros, Ceres and Pallas. I have started to include Hygeia mostly because I am interested in medicinal astrology and Hygeia is named for the Greek goddess of health. At this time I am mostly studying the affect that she has in natal charts. Sometimes I pick asteroids to include just to humor myself and to see where they fall. For example, when I was adding asteroids to my husbands chart, I added Tesla, who helped lay the foundation for modern communications, and Amphitrite, the goddess of the sea.
