Soon to be fruit of all season.
Durian has often been described as "a fruit that tastes like heaven but smells like hell".
However, to the ordinary durian consumers who are mostly minimum wage earners, the "hell" pact is not the smell but rather the price, especially during the off-season, when prices could become prohibitively high due to scarcity of supply.

Stirring up enterprises, generating employment, increasing farmers’ income, turning idle lands into productive lots are rolled into one as Tagum City bids to become the region’s Durian capital.

Yesterday morning, the whole family set to go to Bentong to visit SIL BF family’s durian orchard.
This is the first time in my life I stepped into a durian orchard. The orchard was on a 3 acres hill, needed a little uphill walk. There are so many nice species, and I was told the good ones are rare and they normally reserve for family instead of selling.
When arrived, we saw many collected durians piled up on the ground already. SIL BF’s uncle helped us to open all the durians as we ate on the spot. While we were eating, there were more durians dropped from surrounding areas. Children went out to collect them, and we ate immediately. A very fun experience!

We had so much of good species to eat, include Musang (猫山), Udang Merah (红虾), Bamboo/Kaki Buluh (竹脚), etc. To them, 88 or D24 are low grades of all already, though I still quite like them. Musang is the highest grade, and is very rare. There was on
The King of Fruits, Durian, is in season now! The latest craze in Singapore is a durian called 'Cat Mountain King' literally translated from it's Chinese name, 猫山王. This species of durian is creamy, buttery, sweet with a little hint of bitter taste. It's so silky, the meat just slip of the seed! It's definitely worth every cent I paid for (It's the priciest of all durian!). One very bad after effect of eating this durian, other than your breathe smell like durian, is you won't want to eat any other types of durian! Durians, you either love it or hate it. I think it's the pungent smell that people can't handle. Once you get pass the smell ... ahh ... there's no stopping. Not even if you get poked by the thorns on the shells!I didn't use the 'Cat Mountain King' durian to make the pudding. Oh, by the way, the pudding was custard smooth and don't mistaken it as Steam Egg Custard. I used Thai durian and it's a lot more cheaper. Using 'Cat Mountain King' durian would

I'm finally back in Davao City. This was thanks to another of those one-peso fare tickets on Cebu Pacific I had booked earlier this year. And I'm simply reaping the fruits of my foresight. Hehe! I had taken a flight just a month ago and a lot's changed since then. Imagine what one "terror expert" could do to the entire security system! I knew about the ban on liquids which is why I purposely did not bring any gel, toothpaste and other liquids so that I would not have to check-in my backpack. But I ended up having to check it in because anything with wires is not allowed on hand-carried luggage as well, phone chargers included! As I entered the waiting area, I had to wait a bit since passengers were taking off their shoes for the x-ray. The security personnel also asked us to remove our belts, eyeglasses and everything else in our pockets. Anyway, I guess this is for our safety.I arrived in Davao City at about 5:30 p.m. just in time for dinner. My brod Jepri passed by for me at the Da
Durian by Plaid NinjaDurian is a fruit with skin that is thick, rough, and covered with sharp thorns. It is most notorious for its bad odor but delicious taste. Eating some will give you bowel breath for hours. Because of its bad odor, people often times feel disgusted to even taste it. But in case you didn't know, people in Southeast Asia think it's an aphrodisiac. There are times when my father pays a visit to his province down south in Mindanao and when he comes back he'll be bringing in different fruits which at times include Durian. I'm not sure what made people puke about its smell but I don't think it's that nasty. The taste is different from its smell, I've got to say. According to Davaoeňos, the more evil its smell the more delicious and potent its aphrodisiac qualities will be. The first time I ate a couple of handfuls of it, I have to admit that it creates a sort of warm sensation in your stomach, then spreads all throughout your body later on. Perhaps, it's
