In order to specify a wave its frequency, wavelength, velocity of propagation, amplitude and intensity have to be specified. To specify a particles its mass, velocity, momentum and energy have to be specified. Further a wave occupies a larger area but a particle occupies just a finite position. We used the laws of conservation of energy and momentum to collision between two particles, the electron and the photon, the same way as done with the collision of two billiard balls and successfully explained the characteristic of Compton scattering. The great thing with spending considerable time with a group of outspoken and culturally-diverse people is that you’ll get a good pulse on why certain people believe certain things and others don’t. Of course, such conversations are limited to those who are also willing to listen to something that is not natural to his/her belief system. Intellectual convergence is always a good thing as long as it entails the objective and organized presentation of ideas. Friendly banter and light rebuttals always make the exchange more lively, but it’s comparative theology that just makes the session not only engaging but also educational.

What follows is a double rant. Technically speaking, a rant on two generally different subjects that just happen to be mildly related. This being the case, I’ve combined them into one rant because I am lazy that way.
Now then, on to it. Darren decided to put up a post about Age of Conan and it’s sometimes lackluster reception by people. The argument here is that there is finally a mature game coming out and adults, who claim they don’t want to deal with the hassles of a WoW-esque community, aren’t biting that much.
The comments pretty much sum up all the problems with that. The world of Conan is filled with 2 things: Sex, and Violence. I’m not saying that’s all there is too the lore, or that it is a shallow experience or that it doesn’t touch on other issues, but that is what Funcom is selling this game as. Come check out our game filled with sex and violence. And people are curious as to why the adult community isn’t impressed?
