Have you ever tried to register a good domain name recently?I was thinking of setting up a website that gives recipes for baking nice warm bread rolls, but hot-baps.com has already gone.I wanted to launch a website that reviews all the restaurants in your local area that do a good steak, but nice-rump.com was already taken.I also thought of a website selling faucets for donkeys, but tap-the-ass.com was already in use.OK, that last one wasn't really a business idea, but I was happy with the pun. It makes a serious point though. There are loads of domain names registered every day and most of those don't actually get used for anything so all the addresses you would want are probably gone.There is an alternative to domain names though. Have a look at the NavWord website, www.navword.com.Yo
By Tad CronnHaving put up more than a few Web sites myself, one of the easiest ways I've found to get your domains set up and running is to simply go through Yahoo.Yahoo will register your domains' names for under $10 a year, though as of this writing, Yahoo is having a sale on domains for $2.99 per year. That's a lot cheaper than some registrars I've seen that are still trying to charge $20 or more just for domains.Once you get your domain registered, you still need to host it somewhere. Again, Yahoo has a simple answer, or several simple answers, in its Geocities service. You can plunk down your domains for free at Yahoo Geocities, but you'll have ads. Following recent news surrounding dot travel domains, travel marketers are questioning the value of adopting a proposed common domain extension for the travel industry. Ironically these questions have likely contributed to the slow adoption and changes occuring.The dot Travel (.travel) domain was launched globally to the travel and tourism industry to create a trusted standard by which consumers could rely on. In order to secure a dot travel domain, travel and tourism companies were required to pass an authentication process. This ensured that consumers could rely on the fact that once they reached a dot travel domain, they would be dealing with an offical and authentic travel provider or destination company.About a year ago, I was surprised when a representative contacted me (YES they cal

Finding Recently Deleted / Expired DomainsThere are many reasons why people buy expired domain names. One of the reasons these recently deleted domains are attractive is the notion that they are more favored by the search engines than new domains, and many of them carry good page rank. Hello Fellow Reader,
I am member of Global Domains International for long time now, and even that I now don´t have time to promote it, I use their services and still get some commissions every month…
The proof of payment is my best way of reviewing the site and let you know that GDI is not scam:
Take a look to the site, I am sure you will like it

By: Jim Degerstrom People take advantage of small business owners who leap into the online world without the knowledge to make proper choices. Registration of a www domain gives you a license for a set period of time, and must be renewed to retain control, so you do not own it. Don't wait to be asked the next question "Do you control your website domain?" because twice in 2007 I designed custom websites for clients who lost control due to an uncooperative originating party who registered the domains in question.In both cases the client paid for their domain. In the first instance the registrar simply registered the new domain in their company name, not the client's. In the more recent situation, my client bought a business and the previous owner did not take action to transfer the registrant information. Each relationship deteriorated to the point where the clients felt compelled to register another domain, and fortunately the productivity of each business site was insignificant, so
I was wondering which is the best choice for your blog or website: to have a TLD ( Top Level Domain ) or to have a free domain for it? Obviously, most of you will go for the first kind of domain names ( the TLDs ). Even though this type of domains don't come for free, they aren't expensive either and it will help you establish your online presence in a more professional way, than the free domain names. The free domains, on the other hand, will make your blog or website look cheap and unprofessional. Of course, no one should blame you for using a free domain or a subdomain, if you really don't have the necessary amount of cash to buy one for 1, 2 3 or 10 years. Sometimes, it happens to start your online money making journey with very little or no money at all. In this case, buying a domain for your newly created blog/site may not be number 1 on your priorities list. I know what that mean, as this was exactly how I've started with this blog: with zero ( 0 ) dollars budget for promoti
By: jake forrester Adding and removing sub-domains is fairly easy. You can add and remove sub-domains by going through your control panel. I will show you how to do this in a few easy steps. The first thing that you will need to do is log in to the control panel of your website. If you have more than one website, log in to the website that you wish to add a sub-domain to or remove. This can usually be accomplished by adding /cpanel to your domain name.We will focus on adding a sub-domain first. Then we will look at how to remove a sub-domain. How to Add a Sub-DomainAssuming you are already logged in to your control panel, we will go from there. You should be looking at the control panel interface. You should see different icons or links like mail, web mail, change password, etc. Locate the link or icon that says Subdomain. Click on that link.The next page that you will see will be the Sub-Domain Maintenance page. On this page you will see a couple of fields. The first field is where yo
By: Karen Kirby As many people have found out, you can buy domains with high pagerank (PR) such as PR4 or higher on auctions such as eBay.Why would anyone pay a significant amount of money for just a domain that doesn't even come with a business, website or hosting?Well, the primary reason is so that people can take this high PR domain and use it to host a website primarily for the purpose of linking to websites with lower PR or no PR. Since search engine spiders visit high PR sites more often than low PR sites, the idea is that the spiders will visit the high PR site and then follow the links to lower PR sites.This strategy may enable the lower PR sites to become indexed faster by the search engines, and with enough links from higher PR sites, the PR of the linked sites could increase.While this may sound like an excellent idea, there are a few things to watch for in purchasing high PR domains:1. Unscrupulous sellers have been known to fake PR. Without going into how this can be done
1and1 have something of a reputation of making it difficult to transfer domains away from them and rightly so as no matter how much you look around their website, you’ll not find how to do it.
It’s actually fairly easy once you find the site that you need to do it from.
login to your 1and1 account and unlock the domains that you want to transfer (you’ll find the unlock option on clicking the info tab on your domain management screen);
it’s a good idea to change the name servers at this point to point to those of your new hosting service and, of course, to upload your site to it’s new location if you’ve not done that already;
if you’re using whois privacy you’ll need to disable that before proceeding;Â
register the domain with your new registrar and acknowlodge the request when you receive the e-mail (this is sent to the e-mail address recorded for your domain so check that it’s correct by looking up the domain on whois);

There are bargains to be had buying domain names on eBay. I buy a few every week and bid on lots more. Here's a few tips for a successful domain buying experience on eBay.1. Know the Value of What Are BuyingThere are lots of resources on the internet to check the value of domains. If you are buying 3 character domains 3character.com provides a price guide each month.
