Talon and Rainbow are only two of the many dolphins who have participated in research projects. The Dolphins don't believe Dorsey fits into their style of 3-4 defense. Team Parcells doesn’t believe Chris Long will either, projecting him as an out-of-place outside linebacker in their system. Vernon Gholston is a fit, but way too much of a reach at number one overall. Plus, given the required financial commitment, an outside linebacker just isn’t

Browns’ Crennel to Be Dolphins’ Next Head Coach?
Sounds like newly hired Miami Dolphins VP Bill Parcells is hitting the ground running on personnel decisions early. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com and verified by a league source, Parcells has current Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel on top of his list as the Dolphins’ next head coach. That wouldn’t be a bad hire, especially considering that it wasn’t long ago when Crennel was on the hot seat up in Cleveland before the team reversed its fortunes. And assuming that Parcells was able to hire Crennel, there is that little issue that involves transactions, such as these: compensation. Crennel is under contract for 2 more years, and don’t think the Browns will just let Crennel leave without getting something back in return. But I’d imagine that Parcells already knows this (and probably Huizenga as well).

NFL Week 15 Wrap: Patriots go to 14-0, Dolphins WIN A GAME?!?!
Spygate round 2 goes to the Patriots So Tom Brady was ineffective in this game. He didn’t need to be. For once the Patriots decided to run the ball, which they did effectively against the Jets on Sunday. This was the first game of the season that Brady didn’t throw a touchdown but they were still able to pull a 20-10 victory of the Jets. After the game, all eyes were at midfield where two coaches actually shook hands afterwards. These friends turned enemies didn’t embrace for long. Bill Belichick wore a sly smile, while Eric Mangini looked sad like someone stole his lunch money. Dolphins win?!?!! The Dolphins blew it. They had a chance to go down in history. This would’ve been a team that people would have talked about forever. Now they are just any average 1 win team. No one will ever remember them. The Dolphins beat the Ravens in overtime yesterday after Matt Stover missed a kick to win it. Matt Stover is usually money in overtime. He has gone 5/5

      Not So Fast, '72 Dolphins
Controversial Wins are the Best KindClose, but no cigar. I can’t remember a team whining more after a loss than the Ravens. Suck it up, sissies. Forget about the calls in the final 3 minutes (all of which, by the way, were good calls), how about 2nd and 2 with about 4 minutes left in the game. They make the first down, they win. They get stuffed twice. How about not throwing an interception deep in Patriots territory midway through the 4th quarter? How about not firing the ref’s flag into the crowd or jumping offsides on the PAT? Willis McGahee dominated the Patriots for 3 quarters, then apparently left the game early and missed the entire 4th quarter. The Ravens completely self-destructed. They handed the Patriots the game. It was as ugly as it was entertaining. Ravens fans should be outraged, but not at the outcome of Monday's game. Jets Keep Dolphins Winless With A 40-13 Win.
The Jets came into today’s game against the 0-11 Dolphins as underdogs. I don’t think the Jets players liked this too well and they played like it, dominating the Dolphins and defeating them 40-13. Thomas Jones rushed for his first touchdown as a Jet, Leon Washington had 2 touchdowns of his own and the Kellen Clemens played a pretty good game. The Jets defense played well, Kerry Rhodes, Darrelle Revis and Drew Coleman teamed up for an interception each, along with 2 forced fumbles of Dolphins QB John Beck. Of course the Jets did play the Dolphins so you might not want to read too much into the performance, but it was impressive none the less. Many sportscasters around the country felt this was the game the Dolphins would win to end their winless streak, they were wrong. Next week the Jets return home to play the surprise Cleveland Browns, who are having a good season. The Jets could have revenge on their minds after what happened to them in Cleveland last season.

      Dolphins: Winless, Yet Favored?
This afternoon fellow EC member Simon pointed out that the Dolphins are actually favored by 1 this week against the Jets. This is somewhat amazing, as Miami is currently 0-11. Simon wondered if such a poor team had ever been favored before, which I thought was an interesting question.Sunday Strategy only has lines since 2000, so we're limited by that. Over the last seven years there have been 12 teams that have failed to win more than three games:Rough decade for Lions fans.Anyway, there were six instances in which one of these teams was favored in one of their last five games. These didn't go very well:I thought it was pretty amazing that the 2-13 Texans were favored on the road in '05. The 49ers were pretty bad as well (3-12 at that point), but 4.5 points worse than Houston? That's pretty impressive. Over at Yahoo Sports, their fantasy recommendation for Dolphins WR Marty Booker points out an interesting statistic involving the Dolphins receiving corp. Recommendation: Monday’s performance represents Booker’s highest yardage total since Week 3 (60 yards) and equals his season high in receptions. The fact that Chris Chambers remains the Dolphins’ leading receiver five games after he was traded to the Chargers is more a commentary on the Trent Green/Cleo Lemon quarterback combo than anything else, but the pace of John Beck’s development will determine whether Booker can regain any fantasy value in the final five weeks of the season. …That is just sad…

Eagles Lose McNabb, Beat Dolphins 17-7
The Philadelphia Eagles never seem to make things easy. He and the team were only able to manage 9 first downs. The Eagles took over trailing 7-3 at the half, and in the third quarter put together a solid drive to start the half, as they drove 72 yards in 8 plays with A.J. SciFi Friday: Jaime Sommers Heats Up; Save the Cheerleader, Save the Dolphins; and a Runaway Bride
The writers are going on strike Monday, but with this season being so mediocre they risk not having anyone care. It doesn’t help that Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Jericho, 24, and Doctor Who all remain on hiatus until winter or spring. The new series have generally been disappointing. I’ve stuck with Bionic Woman primarily due to its ties to Battlestar Galatica in the hopes it will improve. The mixture of home life with Jaime’s life as an agent, along with the conflicting spy agencies, does give it some of the feel of the early years of Alias. '72 Dolphins Watch Out!
Complete Sports is somewhat commonly known for his Bold Predictions. However, today I've got one of my own. Except, I'm not sure how bold it really is.I fully believe that the New England Patriots will not lose a game this season. I just don't see them losing. Obviously it would be much easier to make this prediction after the game with Indy this weekend, however I'm making it now. The Colts are really good, but I think the Patriots will win, and probably by double digits.I just don't see them losing to anyone this year. Bill Belichick has this team playing with a fire I've never seen before. He's also coaching to make a point. He wants to put away any chance of the whole cheating faisco placing any doubt in anybody's minds about how good this team really is.Their RBs and TEs are solid, and they have the best WR corps in the NFL. Their D is stout and they have some late round draft pick QB named Tom Brady. He's alright I guess. I'm calling that the Pats go undefeated this sea
