A pleasant surprise on my short trip to Tesco's today; The Observer newspaper had a DVD of 'la dolce vita' bundled with it. I havn't seen the film for ages, but its one of those that warrants a proper movie evening. There's many famous scenes in it, shot artfully by Fellini in black and white. Many people know the Trevi fountain scene also from the reference in 'Lost in Translation' but even the opening has been copied in other movies and the scenes in the car were referenced in Pulp Fiction. There's been a Woody Allen affectionate more or less re-make set in (where else?) Ingredienti:300 gr di pomodori pelati, 300 gr di bucatini, 200 gr di peperone giallo, 50 gr di olio extravergine di oliva, 1 cipolla piccola, 1 filetto d'acciuga, maggiorana, sale.Preparazione:Lavate e pulite i peperoni, tagliateli a listarelle molto sottili. Tritate la cipolla, mettetela in una casseruola, salate, coprite e fate stufare a calore molto moderato per circa 15 minuti; unite il filetto di acciuga spezzettato, il peperone, i pomodori pelati e cuocete a tegame scoperto per altri 5 minuti. Cuocete la pasta, scolatela e conditela con la salsa che avrete completato all'ultimo momento con un pizzico di maggiorana e l'olio crudo.

Ingredienti:500 gr di mele, 1/4 di latte, 75 gr di farina, 75 gr di zucchero, 3 uova, sale.Preparazione:Disponete in una pirofila antiaderente del diametro di 22 cm le mele sbucciate e affettate disposte a cerchi concentrici. Mescolate a parte la farina con lo zucchero e le uova, unite un pizzico di sale. Quando il composto ottenuto è ben omogeneo versatevi poco alla volta il latte a temperatura ambiente. Versate a sua volta il composto sopra le mele e passate in forno preriscaldato a 180° lasciando cuocere per circa 1 ora. Servite il dolce freddo oppure tiepido.

I like Dolce Vita because they design classic shoes with interesting touches. Take these patent leather pumps–they’re constructed like old school high heels, but the color takes them to a new level, no? I like that slightly- pointy-but-still-round toe. Ingredienti:400 gr di mascarpone, 100 gr di zucchero a velo, 2 tuorli d'uovo, 1 bicchiere di latte, 5 fogli di colla di pesce, olio di mandorle, 2 cucchiai di maraschino.Preparazione:Fate bollire il latte con lo zucchero a velo. Intanto bagnate la colla di pesce in acqua tiepida, strizzatela e aggiungetela al latte. Lasciate raffreddare. In una terrina mettete il mascarpone e i tuorli d'uovo. Lavorateli con un cucchiaio di legno, poi versate a poco a poco il latte e, sempre mescolando, aggiungete il liquore. Ungete uno stampo con l'olio di mandorle, versate dentro il composto battendolo sul tavolo perchè non si formino vuoti. Ponetelo in frigorifero per 2 ore circa. Quando è ben rassodato capovolgetelo su un piatto di portata e servitelo.

Ingredienti:1,2 kg di castagne, 200 gr di zucchero, 200 gr di panna, 1 fialetta di essenza di vaniglia, latte, 1 bicchierino di brandy, biscottini per decorare, alloro, sale.Preparazione:Mettete le castagne in una pentola, copritele di acqua fredda, unite un pizzico di sale grosso e 2-3 foglie di alloro. Dolce Vita Patent Leather Pump $138.00 $69!! Dolce Vita makes some really beautiful shoes that are not insanely expensive. I'm totally in love with this deep green pump. I've been looking for a pair of green pumps for a long time, but really haven't found the color that I'm completely comfortable with. I know green is going to be huge this fall.
