Update: Reporting and Documenting the Pro-Discrimination Conference Call
A short post at the end of the week to update you on what’s happened regarding the conference call I mentioned on Monday. The call promoted discrimination/segregation of work. I will remind you that my coworker asked me to stay out of the situation, since I was not on the phone call. I will also remind you that my coworkers do not want to go to EEOC at this time. Anyway, here’s what’s happened:1. My coworker documented the call, including who specifically said what about the intentional discrimination and segregation of work assignments;2. My coworker conducted research into anti-discrimination laws;3. My coworker wrote a memo to our supervisor, which included the specifics of what happened, strong language regarding how offensive the call was (including statements made by White cowo

      Documenting the «Undocumented»
To hear Democrats and Hispanic racists tell it, the 38 million or so criminals squatting in America from Mexico and points further south are not "illegal aliens." Rather, the uninvited and unwelcome guests are undocumented lovers, students, philanthropists, poets, philosophers, artists, circus clowns, snake charmers, earth worshipers, comics, human rights activists, potential organ donors, and other vital

Documenting a Rude and Abusive Coworker or Supervisor
There are some people in the workplace, who become absolute nightmares whenever they are stressed out by deadlines or other work or professional issues. When they’re not stressed out and frustrated, they may be great to work with. But, when they are feeling any kind of pressure, they may become demanding, demeaning, bullying, etc. in how they interact with everyone around them. These people make it seem as though you are working with a Jekyll and Hyde type character. While these people are difficult to work with, at least they are only problematic on a part-time basis.Unfortunately, there are some people in the workplace, who are venomous and nasty all of the time. They like to be sharp-tongued, sarcastic and offensive just for the hell of abusing their coworkers or subordinates. If they are racist, then they are likely going out of their way to abuse members of other races.Regardless of whether or not you are dealing with part-time or full-time abuse at work, you have to make sure t

Close up photo documenting life on the coast - snails and algae
Taken with Olympus E500 digital camera on August 26th, 2007. Click picture for larger view. I really enjoy walking the coast and observe all the life living amongst the rocks, pebbles, sand and seaweed. My macro lens is a perfect tool to take photos of all this wonderful life. Here you can see some snails and algae (I think it is gut weed (Ulva intestinalis)). Also notice all the beautiful details and colors in the sand/rocks. Check out this other macro photo from the coast. It’s of a snail with seaweed as background. Liked the composition on that one. Information about the picture: Camera: Olympus E-500 digital SLR camera Exposure: 0.8 sec (4/5) Aperture: f/11 Focal Length: 35 mm ISO Speed: 100 Flash: Flash fired Lens: Olympus Zuiko Digital 35mm F3.5 Macro Location: Ånstad (Andørja), Troms in northern Norway Share This

Jimmy Justice: Documenting a NYPD double standard
Armed with his trusty video camera, Jimmy Justice scans the streets of New York City looking for law breakers.  Not just any law breakers, mind you.  He catches members of the New York Police Department breaking the law.   Specifically,  New York City Traffic Enforcement Agents breaking the same laws that they ticket others for- blocking fire hydrants, bus stops, etc. Here he captures a Traffic Enforcement Agent who has blocked a fire hydrant- one that is immediately needed by the New York City Firefighters to fight a fire that is right next door.   They can’t get to it because she has blocked it to go get lunch. The Case For Documenting Death
The stacked skulls at the site of the killing fields, Cambodia. In the journey for the authentic, we inevitably find ourselves confronted with the horrors of humanity’s past. Famine. War. Genocide. Not only do these spectres haunt the tourist’s path, but they’re increasingly part of the tour. I found myself face to face with these demons on my trip to the Killing Field’s of Cambodia, a topic I’ve touched on numerous times in the past. “I have been a witness, and these pictures are my testimony. The events I have recorded should not be forgotten and must not be repeated.” - James Nachtwey I remember standing before the tower of skulls, the instruments of torture, and the remnants of mass graves, and removing my digital camera from my pack. I had never known the stories the victims, nor would I ever understand the trauma experienced by those still living. Perhaps that is why I struggled with the dilemma of documenting this death.
