I raised a bug on missing documentation on some new functionality. Got pointed to a completely incorrect document. I think someone was hoping I wouldn’t notice.
Responded that the document was for something else entirely. The predictable response to that was to be pointed to another pile of 5 documents i.e. bury me in documentation. Spent yesterday afternoon going through all 5 documents and they were woefully out of date and still not the documentation we were after. Welcome to sad EDS, 1990’s style IT. I responded that they were still incorrect.Â
That put the cat among the pigeons. Now they want a meeting about it. Fine, though I have little confidence that anybody will agree to deliver or write any relevant documentation. More like a meeting of weasel words and then everybody will hope that this sorry, tawdry episode will just go away. What they want me to do is close the bug. I will to put them out of their misery. And this is the bunch with the worst system build
I’ve been wading through the Wordpress online documentation and there is a lot of it. I always prefer reading that stuff on paper so printed a whole load off which didn’t format too good but was readable. It’s going to take me a couple of weeks to understand this well but then I’ll be able to trash this blog with experience on my side.
Subscribed to some Wordpress and Web design podcasts and started listening to some of them this morning. And was I underwhelmed. One of the Wordpress podcasts was recorded by a kid of about 14 and was predictably full of ‘awesomes’. He was full of it for all sorts of plug-ins and bits of javascript and even he admitted some of them weren’t easy to get going. I can just imagine all sorts of fumbling around necessary to get these things working and a net result of dissapointment. What he thought was great was not quite what I would think of as great. Anyway he was enthusiastic and he’s done well to record t

From the comments of my last post "Easy scrapbooking in early childhood education", most of my blog readers understood it as including scrapbooking as one of the projects or curricular with the children. Actually, what I meant to say is that to use scrapbooking as a means of documentation of the observations made by educators, teachers or even parents towards projects conducted by the children. The documentation part is actually according to Reggio Emilia approach in early childhood education. Therefore, in this case, adults are the ones to scrapbook or do the documentation. By reading the comments, I have an idea for an easy way out for teachers or educators whereby, they have to scrapbook to each children individually. Teachers can print self- made digital scrapbooking templates or layouts and print them without photographs or journalling. Let the children paste their own photographs on the project or add in any scraps embellishments/decorations and later on, teachers add in the jour
