Lyrics:
I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
Uh uh... uh uh, uh uh
Well, I've been afraid of changin'
Cause I've
Lyrics:
Daddy sits on a’ front porch swinging
Looking out on a vacant field
Used to be filled with burley t’bacca
Now he knows it never will
Brothers’ found work in Indiana
Sisters a nurse at the old folks home
Mama still cooking too much for supper
And me I’ve been a long time gone
Chorus:
Been a long time gone
No, I ain’t hoed a row since I don’t know when
Long time gone
And it ain’t coming
Lyrics:
I said I wanna touch the earth
I wanna break it in my hands
I wanna grow something wild and unruly
I wanna sleep on the hard ground
In the comfort of your arms
On a pillow of bluebonnets
In a blanket made of stars
Oh it sounds good to me
(I said) Cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free oh I pray
Closer to heaven above and
Closer to you

With more than six million copies sold of the Dixie Chicks' first album, Wide Open Spaces, the highest ever by a country group, it's reasonable to have pretty imposing expectations of their sophomore album. But Fly delivers. When you watch Natalie Maines, Martie Seidel, and Emily Erwin being interviewed on TV or performing in front of an
Did the Dixie Chisck get vindicated at the Grammy awards on Sunday. Well, I guess it depends on whoo you ask. If you are a Country Music listener, I think that you might just say no. Record sales and popularity...
The Dixie Chicks were big winners at the Grammy's this year as they walked away with all five awards that they were nominated for, the main three that they one was the Album of the year "Taking the Long Way', and song and record of the year was for "Not Ready to Make Nice' and the other two awards was for the best country performance by a group or duo with vocal and lastly best county album also for "Taking the Long Way'.
Other main winners at the Grammy Awards were Mary J. Blige, winning three out of her eight nominations these were for R&B performance, R&B song and R&B album, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers won four Grammy's these were for best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal, best rock song, best limited edition package and best rock album.

NBC issued a statement in a letter to the Dixie Chicks stating that they could not run their ads because they were “. . . disparaging to President Bush.” But as we can see here RedState.org has no problem running ads for the Dixie Chicks. So what’s NBC’s problem?
Kudos to RedState for having the balls to at least take the ad money, but, someone needs to tell them that Republicans are the last ones who should be declaring that anything is in its “last throes.”

In what’s likely one last publicity move for their ever-disappearing musical careers, the Dixie Chicks apparently are raising a stink over the fact that television networks don’t want to air their bitchfest of a movie about the reactions to them trashing the president three years ago.
Yawn. Repeat after me: the fact that a for-profit company doesn’t want to air your political message is not censorship. Please move along.

When sisters Martie Seidel and Emily Erwin founded the Dixie Chicks in 1989, could they have possibly known the success that would someday be theirs? After three independent records and several lineup changes, the group was re-energized by new lead singer Natalie Maines and the support of a major label, and exploded onto the contemporary country scene
After been ignored by radio stations and loosing their producer and been on the recieveing end of hate mail... the Dixie Chicks have given them all the birdie (the middle finger) a big suck on that!! Check out my previous post here, which was last year while all this was going on.The Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines could not resist the rich irony - or the chance to rub their success in the face of a country music establishment that turned its back on them."That's interesting,'' Maines said in picking up the band's Grammy for best country album, one of four awards the group received today. Country radio stations have largely ignored the band after Maines' infamous 2003 remarks critical of US President George W Bush on a London stage."Well, to quote the great Simpsons: 'Heh-heh','' she said, invoking the gloating laugh of a bully character on The Simpsons TV series. The Dixie Chicks' Not Ready to Make Nice, a blistering retort to their critics following the incident, had alread
I don't know about any of you but I am sick of defending the Dixie Chicks and their right to free speech. I don't give a crap what some idiot's take on politics is any more than I care what GW Bush thinks about goth music. Her latest dumb f%$k statement about the President is the last straw for me. I am never buying one of their CDs again.
Okay, to be honest, I have never bought one of
