This weekend we have been planning a trip to go back down to Disney World. The only thing is that I have been thinking that once you have been there, what's left to see. So I have been reconsidering whether we should go back there or maybe try something new. It is for my daughter's birthday and she wants to go but I really think that she might have more fun at Sea World than Disney World. Screamscape has obtained some confirmed information about the Haunted Mansion rehab at Walt Disney World which will involve the addition of a new Staircase scene, and upgrades to two other scenes. They confirm that The Black Widow Bride (they call it the Haunted Bride) “who’s husbands always seem to get the ax…” is indeed coming to the attic. The all new floating Madame Leota séance scene will also be added. I am happy to say that I am off with my family for a fun filled vacation at Disney World!! I will probably need a vacation from this vacation when I get back, however, I am excited to go because I know my kids will love it! I just got word that the video my daughter, Julie, and I filmed for Cochlear Americas is now playing on the product wall in the Innoventions West building at EPCOT! Four people with cochlear implants were featured, Julie and I were two of the four. Just filming it and knowing it would be seen by people around the world who were considering cochlear implants for themself or their child was exciting. Then, having it played on the televisions in all the hotel rooms at the AG BELL convention in Pittsburgh last summer was quite a thrill. I think the true benefits of this trip will come next week since I have come up with at least 4 new topics to explore on this trip alone. Meanwhile back in the park… Walt Disney wanted to present educational material in a fun way.  This was one of his primary goals.  In some ways he was successful, in other ways really not.  But that’s not his fault since he’s been dead since 1966. So now some quick highlights and some observations. Disney/MGM Studios Park is terrible.  UNLESS you like roller coasters and being dropped 60 stories to test the theory of whether your vomit falls as fast as your body in a vaccuum. You would think that a park based on the movies would be fun and exciting, and you’d be wrong.  The food isn’t even good here.  The worst is the new secrets of Narnia attraction.  It is supposed to be a behind the scenes look at the making of the Narnia movie.  Sounds great!  It starts great as you are led onto a soundstage mock up of the sn

The trip down to Disney was smooth and easy - no problems at all.  The unfortunate thing about driving in the Interstate highway era is that there is really nothing to see along the way.  Not quite as desolate as driving to Montreal through the Adirondacks and not quite as monotonous and boring as driving north through Virginia, but fairly uninspiring just the same.
