So after installing Windows XP SP3 this morning I noticed that the Windows Firewall popped up on restart asking me if I wanted to allow My VNC server access to the internet then my instant messenger. A Seattle law firm has filed a $12 million claim on behalf of a developmentally disabled woman who died last year at a Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) facility.Justine Booth, 33, died at Valley Medical Center in Renton on Oct. 17, 2006. Her family said she had been in a vegetative state since Oct. 10, after employees at a Kent-area State Operated Living Alternatives home found her unconscious in a bathtub. After Booth's death, a DSHS regional administrator said that the caregivers should never have left her alone in the tub.King County prosecutors declined to file criminal charges against the two female caregivers who were supposed to check on Booth every four minutes.

A few years back, when I was at my previous school, the focus was on training kids, and for some reason many of the kids were autistic to varying degrees. Prior to meeting these kids, I really had no idea what autism was. I mean, in a very abstract way, autism was to me something that Rainman had... idiot savante type stuff. Crazy math skills and not much else. Turns out, lots of kids are autistic and more are being diagnosed all the time. While it's unclear as to what is causing the dramatic increase in the number of autistic kids, I've heard and read many theories. While some will point to over-diagnosis and medical fraud, I just don't see it. The kids I met were clearly struggling to make his body follow his mind's instructions. Memory leak issues, according to the patch changes log, should occur less now and some items will not spawn where they shouldn’t now. A new theme has also been introduced, the Guy Fawkes theme. Well, it finally happened. After being warned by the YouTube brownshirts that I had better cease uploading copyrighted material or face account deletion, they made good on their threat. Those of you who read this blog know that I would occasionally post entire scenes from mainstream films, then comment on what I felt made them great. First my clip from The Truman Show got bumped. Then it was Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Finally, my bit from October Sky sent management over the edge and they suspended my entire account.What bugs me about this whole process is how everyone who "offends" gets lumped into the same category. If anyone is falling into "fair use", it's me. I don't alter the clips in any way, showing them in their entirety for the purpose of comment and criticism. The law is supposed to allow me to do that. The interim report of the Commission was launched in September 2007. This report details the findings so far and highlights issues relating to the inequalities experienced by some disabled staff working in the lifelong learning sector. The interim report is out to consultation until 7 December 2007. A £5.5 million compensation payout has been awarded to a 16-year-old boy who was left severely disabled after a series of medical blunders at birth. Daniel Kay was left with quadriplegic cerebral palsy after doctors failed to properly manage his breathing when he was born, leaving him without oxygen. When he was just one day old, Daniel suffered a circulatory collapse. The hospital have admitted to making mistakes during birth.
