Coca-Cola is phasing out the controversial additive sodium benzoate, also known as E211. It has been linked to damage to DNA and hyperactivity in children. E211 is used as a mold prevention measure.

We’ve sat there in anticipation all morning waiting, we watched the other 2 brothers pull in to collect things, but no sign of him …………..

But we had to finish early as my sitter had to leave at 1pm, then as we were driving through the village we spotted him… he was on his way back to our yard !!! and wearing those shorts ! lol

I'm pretty sure that I've previously noted my addiction to Diet Coke on this blog sometime in the not-too-distant past. If not, consider this an admission. ("Hi, my name's Dara, and I'm a Diet Coke addict.")But recently, I was somehow convinced to try Coke Zero. My conclusion: It's not bad -- at least when it's lukewarm.This disturbs me -- and not just because of my loyalty to Diet Coke. You see, for years I've been making fun of my sister's affinity for warm (regular) Coke, no ice. Perhaps she's not so wrong after all.
So apparently, sodas are bad for you. Something to do with icky chemicals. Furthering my self diagnosed, and completely invented, allergy to chemically made products, I am giving up Diet Coke. Cold Turkey.
(It's horrible so far, especially now that its 75 degrees out and I want to stroll across campus on errands with a chilled beverage. My aunt may stop speaking to me, and I could quite possibly become unhinged from deprivation of my one true vice. OK, I have lots others, but you can't cure impatience with the cold turkey method.)
I'm trying to adopt the French Paradox method of eating. Only eat things that had a mother, grew from a seed, or man-made from products that I can pronounce. This has to be a better way of life. Processed foods have chemicals in them that help sustain shelf life.
