      Portrait of Didier
That's it, I think it is finished, I might come back to it in a couple of days time. For now however it is done. I am not going to go on about it much today as a little black dog is here and it sits on my spirit, so I will not speak until he is gone.

      Portrait of Didier day 2
Here we go, this is probably the most difficult part. It feels a bit like diving into a murky pool with your hands tied behind your back. That sounds bad I know but sometimes the fear of not being able to achieve what you have in your head is quite tangible. Strange but true. I cant speak for other artists but for me there is always a leap of faith involved. People often look at paintings and think that it is easy...it isn't!So here we are at the beginning of a painting, struggling through the early stages. I am painting this with, at the moment, a limited pallet of : Vandyke Brown, Yellow Ochre, Naples Yellow, Titanium White, Ultramarine, Medium Green and Alizarian Crimson. Actually that sounds like quite a list but for me, it is not. And I am mostly using a small selection of brushes, a couple of Talkon Flats and a couple of Talkon Rounds, 1 and 2 for the rounds and 3 and 4 for the flats..Maybe more tomorrow...if you are lucky!
