I have been making and using cloth diapers for a while now. I have found many free patterns online so that I can sew my own. You can really sew some great looking ones. They sell for bundles on ebay!! You can recycle fabric at home, like t-shirts, fleece blankets, receiving blankets, and more. You can start a great home based business by sewing cloth diapers, the fitted ones are the best, and sell
Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher’s mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and [...]
Recently I am quite upset when it comes to diapering issues.
Since I bought the cloth diapers from MiaBambina, I have been having arguments with MIL on diapering issues.
She is against me using the cloth diapers, as she perceives the CDs are too hot for the children.
I know she intended well for my kids. During the day, she is trying not to use diapers (any forms) on Isabel, and started potty training her. Basically we have to give potty every 15 to 30 min, or we will have to mop the floor.
Okay, I admit I am lazy. I feel stressed that I have to do this so frequently, even with my maid’s help. I don’t like to let my maid deals with my children too much, so this will eventually lay back to my shoulder.
Adding more to this, lately MIL has also been brainwashing Ian to against (more…)
According to her website, Sheryl Crow has adopted a baby boy.
Quoth the Crow,
“Hey Everybody,I am so excited to share with you guys that I’ve adopted a little boy ..he was born 2 weeks ago.His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother and Scooter) and we are enjoying some very private family time.Just wanted you to be the first to know.Lots of love,Sheryl.”
Aside from being highly unlikely that thousands of strangers reading the announcement were even remotely “the first to know,” her announcement prompts the fracas to leave her own little announcement.. mine directed at the throngs of “fans” who will likely send Ms. Crow some sort of baby gift.
Remember that all diapers gifted to Ms. Crow should be cloth!
After all… with mommy Crow wanting to save the environment, there’s just no way her nanny she should even consider placing a Pamper on that cute little hiney (and no… I’m referring to the baby&rsq
S ince I have had several ask how we are diapering our little guy and since ClubMom blogger and homeschool mom, Melonie, at her blog, Stop the World - I Want to Get Off, needs cloth diapering info, here is...
Diapering: Newborn Cloth Diapers - Here's a great suggestion to fit your newborn, or skinny baby! Consider getting smaller wraps, and using night liners (or diaper doublers) inside to ensure a good fit around your baby's legs to prevent leakage. Then you can buy larger diapers that will give your baby longer wear, skipping the size small and use the night liners again to double diaper when your baby wettings get heavier!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Diapering: Free Diapers - Too many receiving blankets? Make a couple dozen of them into great prefold diapers. Even with a high-needs baby, I was able to make at least one of these diapers per day. Here's how: Cut one receiving blanket down to about 20" x 36" to 40". This should give you a second strip about 7"-10" wide. Fold this narrow strip in half or thirds to about 20" long. Place this down the centre of the large piece, as shown: [ [] ] Fold in the sides of the larger piece about 2/3 of the way across. Overlap them on top of
Kat asked:
Don’t know if this has already been asked, but how many diapers do you go through a day? And what’s your diapering routine like?
I have 21 Kissaluvs and 2 Swaddlebees, and I usually still have about 6 clean diapers when the laundry is done. I have 8 Imse Vimse covers, and I am usually on the last clean one when the laundry is ready.
At night each baby goes into a Swaddlebee “one size” with an extra terry cloth insert. After much experimentation I discovered that that was the magic combination that prevented night leaks.
In the morning I change them out of the Swaddlebees and into a Kissavluv. I always use a new cover in the morning to start the day out. I put a flushable liner in the diapers so that poop can be lifted out and flushed; I cannot sing the praises of the flushable liner highly enough. Oh, glorious liner, you keep me from having to manhandle excrement. Oh, wonderous liner, you can be tossed in the wash if the baby has only peed.
This past Friday I went to a Mother's Tea hosted by my midwife. The topic of the meeting was babywearing and cloth diapering. There were three pregnant women there and also other children. Brooke really enjoyed herself, although she did fall down some steps and got a bloody nose. My midwife couldn't get over how big Summer had gotten and loved holding her.It was really fun to sit down with other like-minded women and discuss cloth diapering. In our experience, we first started using cloth diapers to save money. When we discovered all the other benefits, we decided not to switch back to disposables, even when though we could now afford it. It really amazed me that I prefer cloth over disposable, and it really makes me think of finding alternatives to other disposable products, and how those alternatives can help to lessen the impact on the environment that our disposable society causes. Here are some links about the cloth vs. disposable debate in general:The Top Ten Myths About Cloth D
