Last week my daughter decided she wanted to soil her pretty dress while we were out doing some errands. Well no problem I am always prepared and had an extra outfit in my bag. Well her bottle exploded all over my diaper bag, so her extra outfit and diapers were ruined. I luckily was in a store where I could buy her an outfit. My tip of the day is to always have an extra diaper bag in your car, because with children you never know what is going to happen. Instead, get a soft cloth, wet it with warm water and clean the affected area. Don’t believe me? Ask most pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners! Once cleaned, apply aquaphor to the area. Don’t over-apply it, just a light covering and put on the new diaper. There are a lot of diaper rash creams out there, the two best are aquaphor followed by balmex. This may sound really daft but what exactly do you put in a diaper bag? OK. I know. Diapers. And what else? Can you believe I have no idea?
