One of the most popular short stories on "The Road to the Horizon", is "The Day I Got Exiled from the US". This non-fiction piece states the dry facts of my detention at Dulles Airport, and in the end of my deportation from the US. I have not been able to get a tourist visa ever since, and nowadays can only get into the US for work on my diplomatic visa. Not without being interviewed each time. And I am not the only one (and not the only diplomat) having problems with US immigration, apparently. The BBC reports how Shahid Malik - a Muslim Member of Parliament and the UK's current International Development Minister - was detained at Dulles Airport (Washington DC). He said the same thing happened to him at JFK airport in New York last year. The funny thing is Shahid Malik was in the US as a keynote speaker at an event organised by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), alongside the FBI and Muslim organisations, to talk about tackling extremism and defeating terrorism. I am extatic th
Today is another blue day. Just the way you wanted it. The skies are clear and the air is pollution free. Doesn't it make you happy? Or does a blue day mean something else to you? Maybe it's the making of a new friendship or a quiet passing into death or the total forgiveness of an enemy? Don't forget the taste of honeysuckle or the possible existence of an after-life. How about sex with an alien? Whatever you wish for, today's your day. Just ask the first talking llama you run into. Remarkably, we can now communicate with the sea. We understand why she has been so churned up lately. Off-shore drilling for oil has stopped and so has massive ocean dumping. By way of thanks, fish stocks are up in areas recovering from the 2004 tsunami and temperate weather has returned to the Caribbean. Mother Ocean is a friend again.World Prime Minister Gandhi appeared on the BBC and discussed the miracle procedure that brought him back to l
It seems the “Airplane Mode” on the iPhone doesn’t actually permit use while flying, after all.
A flier at ATA Airlines was recently watching a movie on his iPhone, while in “Airplane Mode”, when some flight attendants asked him to turn it off. He replied saying it was in “Airplane Mode” and that the radios were off, but they didn’t take that for an answer and asked him again. According to FAA regulations this mode is not accepted or noted in any form that it is allowed while on planes, that’s actually, and only, defined by your airline.
Some say you can’t use a cellphone while below 10,000 feet, others say no use at all. This is decided by the airline, not by what your phone can or can’t do, and it isn’t recognized. Despite being over the pacific ocean, it made no difference to the attendants. When the flier ended up talking to policemen when they landed in Hawaii, he was let go after explaining his story, even a

I am in airports once a month and have the opportunity to encounter a few moronic TSA agents like the ones featured in this real life horror story. They are so insecure that they feel the need to exert their “authority” over helpless passengers, including former Secret Service agents with their toddlers, like in this case.Lesson here, folks, is ALWAYS recognize that TSA agents can get away with almost anything and justify it. My guess is they could even shoot and kill you and be absolved, all under the guise of “protecting national security.” If you are an irascible type like me, this can get you into trouble. So ALWAYS be nice to TSA agents. Do what they say, even if it doesn’t make any sense, and the person who tells you to do it is the biggest imbecile in the world. Just smile and grit your teeth. Avoid any tone or words that might irritate them in the least, as they can literally make your life a living hell, AND be able to get away with it.Just realize tha

NEWARK–After suspicious materials showed up in luggage x-rays, American Airlines passenger Cupid was detained for investigation. The cherubic cherub claims that the bow and arrow in question weren’t meant for killing or maiming, rather for causing adorable couples to fall in love. Air marshals say that’s not a possible thing.
Meanwhile, Hugh Grant, Tom Hanks and John Cusack were unable to woo Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan and Ione Skye for the entire first and second acts.
“It’s just not fair,” said Grant. “Here I am, being foppish, and the damned leading lady won’t stare into my eyes at the end of any of the Peter Gabriel montages. I can only hope that in the sequel or perhaps the third iteration of ‘The Girl With a Thing for All Foppish Guys But Me’ she’ll come around. I’ve been trying to say adorable British things around her. Mayonnaise. Bastard. Adequate healthcare systems. That sort of thing.”
The reason is because they basically tried to intimdate the other passengers. This letter on Jihad Watch thanking the authorities for doing their job can help give some insight into that. CAIR goes whining again, and should again be told to sit down and shut up. Here's an article on Breitbart about it (via Michelle Malkin), and here's some more telling info from Robert Spencer about one of the imams, Omar Shahin, who's got connections with al Qaeda and the Hamas. It's important to note that certain Democratic leaders in Congress, like Nancy Pelosi, want to try and criminalize airport investigations of Muslims, as Front Page Mag warns. If we want to keep the airlines safe, we need to be ready to face them.I see that Muslims leaders are calling for a boycott of US airlines. Good. We could always do with less crowdedness anyway.Update: as noted in this report, the imams made anti-American comments about the war in Iraq too.Others on the subject include Bill's Bites, Little Green Footb
