Doch gilt “Destroyer’s Rubies” für mich wie etwas, das Kritiker in ihrer redundanten Sprachlosigkeit gern als “zeitlos” benennen. Mehr als das - das leichte Schweben der neuneinhalb Minuten von “Rubies”, die dezenten Anklänge an die langsam ausschleichende winterliche Finsternis (”Painter in your pocket”), die sich auch weiter durch das gesamte Werk zog, liessen mein Frühjahr 2006 erblühen und führten zu einer Art zwanghaften Hörens.

Though Notorious Lightning finds Destroyer returning to a more traditional guitar-based instrumental line-up, this nevertheless feels like a
