Though The Database Publishing Wizard can provide separate scripts for diferent objects and current PCs are pretty powerful, the copy / paste approach is unlikely to handle more than tenths of megabytes of script. But for many developers it would be okay in many cases. In next versions I hope I'll overcome the limitation. You are uploading an .aspx page to a remote host and pointing Internet Explor

Army of Two demo deploying on Xbox Live today
The demo for Army of Two is scheduled to go live today on Xbox Live. That’s according to EA’s official forums where Assistant Producer Matt Turner commented “So for those of you that have yet to give our game a whirl you can download it off Xbox live and take it for a test run. It’s the training and first map of the game so it gets you familiar with the systems and then lets you get a taste of the combat.”“We figured that now is as good a time as any to get it out there. It will be free, of course, and waiting to entice you like a piece of raw meet dangling over an alligator pond…jumping, snapping, being generally menacing until you grab it and take it deep under water for a good ol’ fashion death roll… animals!” he continued.Turner also announced that a new multiplayer

      Deploying ASP.NET Applications
Introduction Before looking at the different steps involved in setting up and deploying an ASP.NET Web application, it is important to understand the difference between Setup and Deployment. Setup is an application or process that allows you to package up your application into an easy-to-deploy format, which can then be used to install the application on the target server. Deployment is the process of taking the application and installing it in on another machine, usually by the use of a setup application. At one time or another, most computer users would have experienced the dark side of installing Windows programs. For example, when you install a new version of your application, the installation program copies the new version of your dlls in the system directory and makes all the necessary registry changes. This installation might potentially have an impact on other applications running on the machine, especially if an existing application was using the shared version of the installed

Windows Vista: Top 10 Things You Should Know When Deploying
With the business launch of Windows Vista on November 30, 2006, and the general release of the operating system on January 30, 2007, Microsoft introduced a variety of changes compared to Windows XP. The fact of the matter is that Vista brings to the table an evolved infrastructure over Windows XP. And this detail has a direct impact on the deployment process of the platform. End users are less affected by the architectural evolution of Vista, the corporate environment being impacted the most. The first thing that users should be aware of when migrating to Windows Vista is the size  of the operating system's images. While XP images could be limited to a maximum of 700 MB, the same is not the case with Vista. Once installed, the latest Microsoft operating system will have a footprint of over 5 GB, but just a compressed image of Vista can be in excess of 2 GB. The second detail involves the User Account Control built into the operating system. Even though the UAC is just a method

The full Sharepoint Server has always seemed quite costly so I'm interested in seeing exactly what it has to offer before making any committment to it.
