For those of us who have been doing SEO since the 1990’s and feel rather nostalgic toward the evolution of search and the Internet its is with great remorse that the official Yahoo Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool has finally made it into the Otherworld Wide Web above. Lovely, aren’t they? These are just a few of the wonderful designs that Olivier Theyskens, one of my favorite working designers, did for Rochas over the last five years. I was completely in love with Theysken’s work for this house, which originally opened in 1925. There was a quiet elegance and a [...]
-Day 104-You know what I learned this weekend? That I can't trust you guys! You told me the wedding would suck and I'd cry all night while hiding under the table! You lied to me! Here I trusted you and instead you abused our friendship and exploited my anti-social fears. You should be ashamed of yourselves! What? You thought I'd take the blame for building up the dreaded wedding and then actually enjoying it? Then you don't know me very well!.It began shaky when Andy introduced me to his coworker:"Bee this is the other Andy, this is my wife"I shook his hand and said "Wow! I bet it's not annoying to keep getting called 'the other Andy'!"SILENCE! No, not silence, I could hear crickets chirping..Hey man, if I hit a nerve, say so! man up and tell people you don't like being in my Andy's shadow!
Departed's Monahan and Leo DiCaprio Eyeing The Chaser Remake Leonardo DiCaprio is all about Asia nowadays. We confirmed early this month that there will be a 2009-slated, live-action remake of the Japanese classic Akira, for which the 33-year old actor is apparently set to star in and produce. Now, word comes that DiCaprio might lead a William Monahan-adapted remake of the Korean hit The Chaser, which was only released in that country last month. I guess the $20 million+ it's earned so far speaks to its appeal, if not the fact that Warner Brothers picked up the remake rights earlier this week for reportedly $1 million. Not bad. Thankfully, this isn't another Grudge or any of that Asia-to-America horror nonsense. At a high level, the film will depict DiCaprio as an "ex-cop who goes on
The disconnect between promise and actual delivery has been the death of many brand campaigns, long before they attain maturity. The graveyard of departed brand campaigns is full of tombstones recalling how some of them started off by promising the sun, the moon and far beyond, but actually ended up being huge disappointments. The tourism ministry is trying its hand with a campaign that might end up with a similar outcome. The tourism ministry is splurging a lot of cash on marketing India as a tourism destination under the “Incredible India” campaign. The ad is running on French TV channels, being printed in Spanish newspapers, pushed under the door in Sweden as direct mailers. The ad shows an elderly and well-to-do couple, with the gentleman seemingly into his initial years of retireme

SynopsisYears ago, a powerful Irish mafia figure placed a small selection of his youngest, brightest men into the Massachusetts State Police Academy as cadets. Their purpose is to eventually rise within the prestigious ranks of the state police department, to serve as the eyes and ears of their boss. While somewhere else, a young cadet was assigned with an equally dangerous task: infiltrate the Irish syndicate headed by the man sending in his own to the Massachusetts State Police. Now, one cadet is an up and coming police official with a torn allegiance to his job and to the criminal mastermind that put him there. While the other cadet is the trusted number two of that man, only finding his professional duties are becoming blurred with his current state. But new clues have lead to unfortunate discoveries, when both sides realize they're being watched by the enemy. It's now all just a matter of time before the men assigned to find out whose the infiltrator, could come to a bloody end

I recently saw The Departed. Everybody raved about how good that movie was, but I thought it sucked. Leonardo Dicaprio was the only good actor. Although it was a star-studded cast, the rest of the actors were show boating the entire time. I found it very distracting. The story had a lot of irrelevant moments. The ending was a surprise, but by that time, the end was far overdue and the movie had gone too far into the, "who cares" realm. But I bring up The Departed to illustrate that I think that some dancers are stars and some are chorus girls. It's possible to cross over or even to do both, but most only do one well. When they get cast in the wrong role, it isn't very pretty.A good troupe should blend. No one should stand out. No one should look like a soloist. Each member should be a part of a seamless whole that compliments the big picture. When a soloist stands out as a soloist in a troupe piece, she ruins the whole beauty of the piece. At the same time, if a soloist looks like a ch
Poor, poor Hugh
If you took a straw poll at the Viator offices, I reckon the Dearly Departed tours in Los Angeles would rank among the most popular we offer, anywhere.
The reason? Partly it’s that fantastic mug shot of Hugh Grant. And partly it’s the concept of the tour itself: a 2-1/2 hour romp across Hollywood in a ‘Tomb Buggy’ tracking down gruesome, ghastly and notorious episodes in Tinsel Town history. From the Manson murders to George Michael’s favorite LA public restroom, from Sunset Boulevard to the last-gasp locations of Frank Sinatra, River Phoenix, Dee Dee Ramone, Bela Lugosi… how cool is that!
So we tracked down the founder and driving force behind the tours, Scott Michaels, and asked him a few questions about Los Angeles, the Golden Era of Hollywood, and some of the funny (as in strange) things he’s encountered over the years.
Viator: What’s the most gruesome episode or event you cover in your tours?
Scott Michaels: P
I made some friends just before we departed Deer Lake.Blackflies AND snow - it just ain't fair! Enroute, lots of heavy jets passed beneath us. They have about 100 knots on us, and were soon out of sight. We dodged some pretty serious thunderstorms around Montreal and landed uneventfully back home. The pictures don't do them justice - we were at FL390 (wrongway) and were just barely above the smaller ones. The bigger ones towered past us up to 50,000' - we went around those.Once home, my landlord dropped by with some presents. He flies long-haul for a major air carrier and was in Beijing yesterday, where he picked these up.Best.Typo.Evar.Now we are off to a Skinny Puppy concert. Skinny Puppy? Who the hell are they? My most favoritest band when I was a young pup. Heck, 2 of my tattoos are Skinny Puppy artwork. Yeah, I have 'issues' :)
The band spoke candidly to Altitude TV about kicking Ben out of the band and the decision to hand singing duties over to former drummer Francis Mark. And by candidly, I mean, quite harshly.
So, I finally got around to watching The Departed this afternoon -- while unironically wearing a "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirt -- and it was really good. In fact, had I seen it in 2006, I might have said it was the best movie of the year.It is, officially, the best movie I've seen so far in 2007, if that helps. And, for the record, until today, I never noticed that Matt Damon and Leonardo DeCaprio sort of look alike.
I just watched the Best Movie of the Year, Oscar winner - The Departed. I must say that I had very high hopes going into this movie. It had an exceptionally star studded cast, several awards and nominations andthere was an insane amount of hype from the general public (friends and family included).
I will start by saying I was not disappointed. This movie met and exceeded all of my expectations. I mean going in, I was hoping for the best. After all I am a huge Jack Nicholson fan, Mark Wahlberg as well especially after his performance in Invincible. Matt Damon is okay I guess, I mean he is Jason Bourne. Back to my point though, this movie won the oscar because it absolutely deserved the win, and although I have yet to see the Last King of Scotland, Dicaprio's acting in this movie should have earned him the best actor oscar. If you have yet to see the masterpiece by Martin Scorsese, rent it immediately.
For the first time in many days, I am quiet.
The Poo is napping in the nursery at my mother's house, a room established in a different home during different times for the then-infant girl who is now my five-year-old niece. Memories of those times at what we called "The Ponderosa" (with affectionate derision) seem like memories that should belong to another family.
My father was alive then,

You just can't keep a good filmmaker down. Martin Scorsese is considered one of the best (if not the best) American filmmakers alive, yet has no Oscar for Best Directing. He's been overlooked five times by the Academy, but I predict this will be his year. This will be the year of The Departed, an excellent crime drama rife with fine performances, an engrossing story, and
The Departed Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and more!Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Watch The Preview First:My Review: Director Martin Scorsese's "The Departed", a gangster flick based from the Hong Kong thriller "Internal Affairs", goes without saying as perhaps his best work since "Goodfellas." Working on a genre that's right up his territory, Scorsese is back on top of his game and recreates a new dimension to the genre. This crime thriller treads the same theme as much of its director's previous films does. It's about two young men, the people around them, and the complications brought about by their characters' ambiguity.Set in Boston, the Massachusetts State Police sends young cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) to go undercover and infiltrate an Irish mob syndicate where he quickly earns the trust of leader Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). Meanwhile, Costello's informant Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) works for the police depa
