A few weeks back we told you that Akiva Goldsman was frantically trying to finish the script for the Da Vinci Code sequel Angels & Demons, just days before the writers strike began. The film had a release date of December 19th 2008 with production scheduled to begin early next year. Goldsman didn’t finish the script in time and Columbia Pictures has decided to postpone production on the Ron Howard film until they have a more ‘full-realized production draft’. The thing is, there is no end in sight for the strike, so it’s unknown when Goldsman will be working on the project again. It’s safe to say that, despite negative reviews, The Da Vinci Code was a huge box office hit. After the film’s performance, Columbia Pictures announced that the book’s big screen sequel, Angels & Demons, will be hitting theaters on December 19th 2008. Now at the time, that dates seemed like ages away but now it’s fast approaching. Nothing’s been heard on the movie front, it’s debateable whether the film will reach it’s deadline - there hasn’t been a set start date yet. Although, with Ron Howard likely to film Angels & Demons before Frost & Nixon, we may be seeing the movie after all. Yesterday it was announced that the production had secured filming permits and are set to start production in February 2008 with most of the film to be shot on location in Rome. With the utmost of irony, Daniel Alfredsson came into the Sabres zone against 3 defenders down the left side, where he was beat by Jason Pomminville last season to take the brunt of the blame for the series winning goal, and buried a wrister past Ryan Miller to clinch this series in 5 games. Alfredsson had 1 goal and 1 assist and Dany Heatley had 1 goal and 2 assists as the Senators played better and better as the game went along.Heatley finally had found the net in this series and played superb.Can you belive Chris Drury? Ronaldo earned his right to begin his journey as a United legend tonight. It was at the Estadio da Luz where he fell from grace in Dec 05, with a disgraceful and immature performance and a sending off. I was ready to write him off then. However tonight he not only redeemed himself with a scintillating display but capped it off with a level of maturity and presence that's only reserved for United legends. Tonight he showed why he will be special. Tonight he stood up to be counted when so many of his teammates went missing. For a full 60 minutes, we were horribly shit. Apart from Ronaldo, our entire midfield was bullied into submission. Scholes and Carrick were awful, giving the ball away cheaply, leaving O'Shea to clean up their mess. Today the result went our way, but our lack of a ball winner will come back to haunt us in a big way one day. When I saw one of their new handbags for spring I couldn't believe my eyes, this thing is hideous it reminds me of a shaggy dog and I found my self completely puzzled. How could something like that be the creation of fashion genius Miuccia Prada? So I ran as fast as a lightning bolt to my computer and looked up the entire Prada collection for spring and summer, I thought I would die when I saw my worst fears materialized.
