And here I was thinking that the Tablet PC market is quite dead. Dell plans to release it’s first Tablet PC called the Latitude XT although they’ve been quite silent about it. I confirmed the project sometime in May up till now, the only information that you can find floating on the net is this picture as well as the specs below.

ZDNet Asia is reporting that Dell’s new Tablet PC will be called the Latitude XT. The XT will be based on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform and will almost certainly have a 12.1-inch widescreen display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution, the pen and touch input support, and an optional outdoor viewing capability. It is powered by Intel’s single or dual-core ultra-low voltage (ULV) processor and has an integrated graphics solution reportedly.Along with WiFi options supporting up to 802.11n wireless standard and Ethernet LAN, Dell Latitude XT has optional Bluetooth and wireless broadband 3G (HSDPA, EV-DO Rev. A) connections. Today Dell's Business Product Group General Manager Jeff Clarke confirmed that the company will be kicking a Latitude tablet soon. Even Engadget managed to get a pic and some info on it's specifications. In a video posted on Direct2Dell, Jeff mentioned that the tablet is designed specifically for education/heathcare/corporate sector and is 'one of the lightest weight convertible tablet in the market place.' According to Engadget the tablet can be configured with single/dual core Intel ultra low voltage processor, LED-backlit WXGA 1280 x 800 display, wireless n, Bluetooth, and fingerprint reader.
